The Russians have maybe a minor tech edge but major logistics problems.

Well it just so happens the good ole US of A is pretty darn good at that sort of thing. We did it before. Can do it again. Lend Lease 2 anyone? Be a boon to our manufacturing sector as well I'd imagine. I hope it doesn't get that far, but if it does all is not lost.

The logistics problem is maintaining a major mechanized army on the Turkish border.

I was thinking about the Western Europeans or the USA stopping Russia. I suppose if the Turks have nukes they could halt Russia.

The Russians have manpower enough to completely nullify Turkey. They also have natural resources out the wazoo and a nasty ‘no prisoners’ attitude.

Turkey is no match if it turns unrestricted.

NATO is not required to act if Turkey makes an offensive move into Syria...the charter is defensive only.

Don’t think so re manpower.
Recall, age distribution Turkey vs Russia favors Turkey. So its not such a mismatch.
Next, doubt if the Russians will or can fully mobilize. This a “war of choice” for them.
Last, Turkey will be able to concentrate on its principal dangerous land frontier, while Russia has a single railroad, maybe, going through either Georgia or Azerbaijan, neither of which are friendly and will have to be invaded or intimidated. Either way logistics will be difficult, at the far end of the Caucasus.

Only with nukes.
Turkey has @250 modern fighter aircraft - it makes and services its own F-16s.
It’s got Leopard2s from Germany
And some modern AA systems.
And the Russians will have to get through hundreds of miles of mountainous terrain.
The Turks are likely to be a very tough nut.

They’ll take Georgia and intimidate them, as well as make Putin into a neo-Czar, defender of the Orthodox Church. Azerbaijan is Muslim. Like I say, they have a nasty, no-prisoners attitude, as Georgia already knows to its sorrow. They don’t need to successfully invade Turkey, just keep it out of Assad’s way while they continue to destroy his opposition.
