The Mask Is Off: Trump Blames Conservatives For GOP Betrayals
The Daily Wire ^ | 2/11/16 | Ben Shaprio

Posted on 02/11/2016 8:44:58 AM PST by TBBT

On Wednesday, Donald Trump finally came out of the closet: yes, he admitted, he's no conservative, but conservatives are the problem with the country anyway. Here's his tweet:

Trump is half-right - the Republican Party has promised, over and over again, that it would implement conservative policies. Then they reneged, disappointing their conservative base over and over. That's one reason the two leading candidates for the Republican nomination are Trump and Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), both hated by the establishment but supported by grassroots conservatives.

Trump does not say what the writer is interpreting him to have said according to the writer's imagined implications. The only purpose of this piece seems to be to fragment the ranks.

I stick to my neutrality, and continue to support Trump & Cruz. (Support For Trump & Cruz.)

You know what? As a Cruzer - I can take the hits you give him on the TPP issue. I don’t like his support there either.

But at least it’s not ObamaCare he’s supporting. Like Donald does.

I take the campaign hot air with a grain of salt. Look at Rubio running against amnesty and then writing an amnesty bill! These guys have no intention of keeping every campaign promise and big donors love socialized medicine. Would a POTUS Cruz go against them? He sure didn’t on TPP.

1. What Trump actually said we true. Paul Ryan (supposed conservative) and Republicans rubber stamped Obama’s budget funding scamnesty, 300,000 Muslim rapefugees, and everything Obama wanted.

The existing Republican establishment has done NOTHING to slow Obama’s destruction of America.

2. What’s left to ‘conserve’? 20 trillion in debt, open borders, what?

Trump isn’t a conservative. He’s a populist reactionary.
When Obama says, “They bring a knife, we bring a gun.” Trump is the Atom Bomb.

Trump will build a wall and stop the Muslim invasion of America (1 million total per year via legal immigration and the refugee manufactured crisis).

Only Trump has the BALLS to do this and will get it done.

3. The goal is not to win some ideological ‘conservative’ checklist.

The goal for Trump supporters is to stop the immediate existential threat to our Republic.

Trump, though, has benefited ALL Republicans by taking the heat. He withstood the heat of saying STOP illegal immigration, build a wall, and STOP Muslims from invading our country.

Now Cruz and the rest can follow in his wake.

But Trump had the balls to say that and will have the balls to do that and things will move very fast.

Trump, given his age, is likely a one term president. He’s the shock to the system you put in to kill the Washington status quo.

I like Cruz. He’s a great SCOTUS pick. 40 years of him on the Supreme Court is a home run.

That’s the win/win here and how it’ll play out.

Or we will get Hillary/Sanders and continue the slide into class warfare, open borders, and third world status.

No. Trump is only identifying the problem, he's not the symptom nor the cause.

The conservatives chose to throw their lot in with the republicans, thinking they were the lesser of two evils. The conservatives thought wrong.

Trump is a Nationalist, and Nationalists are loathed and despised by every political flavor except the people who believe in national sovereignty and the Constitution as our bedrock rule of law.

If you have a problem with that, then either you need to find a different website to frequent, our you are a mole or plant sent here to further a propaganda disinformation campaign.
Trump is only pointing this out.

Trump is exactly right. Electing "conservatives" hasn't bought us anything.

TPP is small potatoes compared with the bigger issues of ObamCare and amnesty.

I will give Trump credit with his promises regarding amnesty. His position is better than Cruz and/or Rubio.

While Trump does say he will repeal ObamaCare, he would replace it with another form of socialized (single-payer) medicine.

Trump is Trump.

When I was young, businesspeople were not necessarily political because they were occupied with their businesses. That has changed. I see Trump as a reflection of that.

Frankly, Trump’s rise reflects the fury of GOP sellout to anything 0bama wants. At this point, I don’t care whether it agrees, is blackmailed or paid.

I just want it fixed. NOW. We don’t have a lot of time left. I want sovereignty, smokestacks, and work for US citizens. Everything else comes after that. I put defense in with sovereignty. Let others pay for their own defense. France doesn’t appear to want to defend itself. I don’t know why we’d take up the task if they won’t, as an example.

Trump funded the GOPe. He helped create the mcconnell’s when the Tea Party tried to oust them.

Trump said he will get along great with that nice pelosi schumer mcconnel

All Conservatives should be alarmed by that talk.

To put Trump’s comment into context with his own actions, Conservatives tried to take out Mitch McConnell in response to his betrayal, but Trump helped McConnell fend off the challenge.

I just read the tweet.

The people who believe this author's take on it are sick.

It was clear to me, he was saying there are a lot of so called conservatives, who ran on being so, or media type conservatives who claimed they were, but they did nothing, accomplished nothing and broke all their promises.

How does anyone disagree with that? It's absolutely true, it's why there is so much anger in the GOP voter base. It's why most of us on FR are so upset. We were betrayed.

Yet here we are watching the Cruz fans, their tip of the spear group, those who defend anything Ted does, who claim Donald is always telling untruths, the ones who think they're the only ones who care about truth, and look at what they're doing. They say that this proves Trump isn't conservative.

Good lord Cruz supporters, get a grip, you're so over the top sometimes, it's sickening. And here you are again. Your candidate is fine with me if he wins, but you're sometimes beyond help.

Rafael Edward (Ted) Cruz is No Constitutional Conservative

The interviewer then asked him if he would give TPA (fast track) to Obama, and Cruz answers, “I support Fast Track, yes.”

The entire purpose of fast-track is for Congress to surrender its power to the Executive for six years.

Trump blames Conservatives, but Trump himself helped Mitch McConnell fend off a primary challenge from a TEA Party candidate.

Trump fought against Conservatives when they tried to make McConnell pay for betraying his promise to the Conservatives who worked to give him a majority.

Every Trump supporter here knows that’s a lie, and if you don’t know it as well, it’s because you choose ignorance.

That’s a good point and one that often gets left out of the debate. It is one thing to send a majority to congress. It is quite another to take over the leadership. That takes years and years of consistently sending strong representatives up there. Anything else is a legislative coup, which we had an opportunity for when Boner resigned, but we could not capitalize and got Boners hand picked successor.

From the last debate:

Well, I think I am, and to me, I view the word conservative as a derivative of the word CONSERVE. We want to conserve our money. We want to conserve our wealth. We want to conserve. We want to be smart. We want to be smart where we go, where we spend, how we spend. We want to conserve our country. We want to save our country. And we have people that have no idea how to do that, and they are not doing it, and it's a very important word and it's something I believe in very, very strongly.

By his own admission, his "definition" shows he doesn't know the difference between a conservative like Cruz versus a RINO Republican (DUmocrat Trojan Horse) like he is.
