We should not have a draft and it should be eliminated as an outdated idea. If the Republic can’t get people to willingly fight for it it is not worth having. In any case, the future points to a different kind of slim down warfare rather than mass formations.

No problem. service doesn’t have to mean a particular position. That’s why I see no problem for making it mandatory to sign-up IF there was to be a draft.
I can’t believe that I agree with McCain. Nobody is going to draft anyone’s daughter but I guarantee the more radical women’s organizations will get a loud “shut up” from the huge population of women that heretofor kept their mouths and opinions private.

With a population of over 320 million, I can understand why it would be difficult to find enough men to raise an army in time of need. /sarc
Registering and Drafting are two separate things.

If the Feminazis want to be allowed into combat then they should be drafted as well. They want their cake and eat it too (combat and no SS/draft). Don’t give it to them.
I wonder if some of this is coming up so guys can’t claim to be transgender to get out of the draft.
