Throwing The Flag On Obama For Excessive Celebration After Jobs Report
Investors Business Daily ^ | February 8, 2016 | Editorial

Economy: After another mediocre jobs report showing gains barely keeping up with natural labor force growth, Barack Obama rushed to the TV cameras and spiked the football in the end zone. But if there had been referees, he would have been penalized for excessive celebration.

What exactly was the president celebrating? A GDP that grew by 0.8% in the fourth quarter and still has anemic labor-force participation among those in their prime earning years?

A stock market off to one of its worst starts ever, with the S&P 500 already down 10% and the Nasdaq off 15%?

A real unemployment rate...

A budget deficit...

That's some record of accomplishment. The president trumpets the new job numbers, but he fails to mention that if the pace of job creation in this "recovery" were the same as Reagan's, we'd have more than 8 million more Americans earning a paycheck today -- equal to the entire labor force of Pennsylvania.

Even more remarkable was Obama's claim that the problem with this economy is "doom and despair" Republicans who keep bad-mouthing this supposedly sizzling growth...

Bernie Sanders says the economy has been "rigged," with the gains of the last decade going to only "the richest 1%." He says ObamaCare isn't working and the cost of college is killing middle-class families. Hillary Clinton laments that the middle class is falling further behind and that income inequality is getting worse.

If Obama really wants to own this economy, it's all his.

Obama thinks we are all stupid. He is right for about half the population though.

Good morning --it's only Tuesday and we're already officially in a correction!  Add to that the stock index futures have us in for another -1.35% even while metals are seen +2.47%  --gold/silver continue their trajectory to $1,189.30/$15.38.

Wholesale Inventories get reported today just after opening and who needs the pundit pages when we got these threads:

What I see is a stupidity of that half that’s by choice. When I chat w/ those guys they’re not idiots —only when we go to politics.

That’s true. I work with college educated professionals. When it comes to politics, the ignorance is astounding.

That's what dumb people say.  Don't listen to them because you're smart. Example from Business Insider: Proof: Republicans Really Are Dumber Than Democrats. The loopy left love that lie but every time they actually check they tend to hide the truth.  Here's an AP graphic that's been pulled:

--and here's a study from Berkeley that's hard to track down:

The stereotype is that Reps are rich white people.  Let's face it, those guys got college.

A college education today can’t hold a candle to a High School education from 75 years ago.

Yes, successful conservative business folks just about all go to college, but they are far and away represent a fraction of “college educated” Americans.

College today is all about safe space, inclusiveness, and politically correct lifestyles. Granted, nearly every grad has a facebook page, and knows how to stream useless vids to the net, but real abilities that are needed in our workforce are MIA.

I stand by my statement.

A new Bureau of Labor Statistics report shows that there were 665,000 jobs lost in January, before accounting for the seasonal adjustment.

The ‘Progressives’ don’t even read their own reports!!!

That may be your view when it's lite banter on the FR, but when you need surgery you don't want some class of 1937 high school grad, you get a state of the art MD.  Same when u need a good lawyer.  Same when you check out the engineering staff at company you're buying into.

Now that people are taking a lot more interest in the Workforce Participation Rate, I'm not sure they aren't fiddling those numbers as well. Nobody in their right mind pays any attention to the U-3 rate anymore. SGS has the right numbers Here

The seasonally adjusted WPR is Here

The unadjusted rate is Here

The 12 month adjusted graph shows the WPR increasing, while the unadjusted rate shows it decreasing in the last two months.

Actually it wasn't a new report, it was the same one Obama was pointing to --as in. figures don't lie but liars figure.  Dumb people who say that the BLS is wrong never bother to look at the BLS tables, this is what we were looking at last Friday when it came out: [click to enlarge]:

Boy, learn something new everyday....1937 high schools pumped out engineers, doctors and lawyers. Damn how things have changed in 75 yrs. /s

Basic education (HS equivilency) between the two? I’d say the 1937 would beat the pants of 2016.

Since when, ever, was a MD an undergraduate degree? Comparing apples to nails doesn’t help your argument.

A “college educated” youth today can not articulate how our government works. How our banking system works, how to calculate compound interest, or even how to write a simple contract. They can not name 3 supreme court justices, or 4 state governors. And, yet, they are voting?

Scary
