Save for the entertainment, what is to like about Trump as a serious Presidential candidate for truly Conservative voters?

George Will hates him.

Will shouldn't let his passions get in the way of his professional analysis. Trump isn't going anywhere. Neither is Cruz.

Speaking of letting passions get in the way of analysis, I'm nominating them for cabinet positions in the Yeb! administration. ;-)

When George Will tries to shame people for the religion it really is pathetic.

Maybe it is because D. Trump is an alpha male? Or Will has vested interest in illegal aliens? Or because in his heart he is a liberal Democrat?

“Serious question: Save for the entertainment, what is to like about Trump as a serious Presidential candidate for truly Conservative voters?”

That’s a very good question but there’s a better one below.

Trump is most every bad thing people say he is and at the same time superior to the rest of the candidates with the possible exception of Cruz.

Also, the Republican party is controlled by moderates and Trump is wreaking havoc with the status quo faux conservative power structure of the party.

Full Disclosure: I de-registered from the R party in 2007 when it became evident the leadership had (1.) no interest in even slowing profligate spending increases by the federal government, (2) most Reps were only interested in being part of the D.C. club and enjoying its perks, and (3) Republicans hate the R base while Dems fight hard for every tiny interest group that makes up their base.

I didn’t want to be a member of a party that is selling the country down the river while lying about being conservative.

Those people are scared to death of Trump, and I take that as a good thing.

This is the question you should be asking:

“Serious question: Save for the lip-service, what is to like about Republicans as a serious party for truly Conservative voters?”

“what is to like about Trump as a serious Presidential candidate for truly Conservative voters?”

Trump is the only candidate who spoke out about the illegal immigration, border and sanctuary cities problems. Trump actually visited the border and spoke to the border patrol. He spoke to people living along the border. He then told the truth about the disastrous policy of uncontrolled borders and illegal immigration.

He was called a racist and other names for doing so. He lost his Apprentice Show and his Miss Universe Contest. He was attacked by everyone in the media and the entertainment industry. But he stuck to his principles. No one else would.

Trump was the only one to raise the problem of one sided trade agreements and companies outsourcing work to other countries and then laying off American workers.

Trump was the only one to address the problem of crime by illegals and sanctuary cities. He had several families of victims who said they were ignored by the government and the media because their loved ones were killed by illegals.

Trump is the only candidate to address the problem of Muslim terrorism. The other candidates refuse to address the problems with spending tax dollars to bring thousands of unvetted Muslims from dangerous areas into the US. He is the only candidate to see the problem of the Muslim invasion of Europe and realize the dangers that it represents.

Trump is the only candidate to realize that U.S. business is uncompetitive and that the middle class in the U.S. is being destroyed.

Finally, Trump is the only candidate to not immediately fold like cheap suit when attacked by the media.

If you want a candidate who will give in and “compromise” every time and who has no principles he will stand up for there are plenty of other candidates to choose from.

But, he appears to be a closet big government guy as he has hinted at Medicare as the vehicle to solve Obamacare...

There are no “CONSERVATIVES” running...But! to answer your question Trump is the only one suggesting putting muslim immigration on hold. Trump is the only one who wants the law’s on the book’s concerning illegals within our border’s enforced . Trump is the only candidate NOT financed by outside sources albeit he does take small personal donations. Trump is respectful of the money he spends on his campaign and he has dominated ever since... with what I consider “CONSERVATIVE” tone’s. Some of you Freeper’s are as miserable as democrats I swear. Personally I was for Cruz until he made quite a few horrible vote’s in the Senate and then when i saw that Trump was serious I have followed ever since. You do realize we need someone with free reign to go into D.C. and expose and flush out the multiple communist’s and islamist’s that are throughout our entire federal government don’t you? No one individual that has had the traction this man does will ever be seen again if he is snubbed and if that occur’s we as a constitutional republic are finished. I have been voting since I 18 in 1979...Reagan was my first presidential vote...

George Will's panties have been in a twist ever since his wife lost her swell paying gig
'advising' Scott Walker, he's just like our own local Trump-hater (Cincinatus Wife),
she started despising Trump, I suspect for the very same reason.

Have you followed up his possible measures to get big cash into the Medicare fund with simple procedural changes?..He has spoken about them numerous times.

He's the one most serious about taking on "illegal immigration." The others are "amnesty lite."

He is serious about immigration, against TPA and its version with the Corker Bill, against TPP. He will be the first President in a long time to actually take on the bureaucracy and waste. He will work seriously to regain manufacturing jobs in the US. He will protect from a migrant invasion from the Middle East.

Cruz is a better social conservative and will try to fight but I don’t believe he can get it done.

As a party, I agree that the GOP has only provided “lip service”...they have not upheld the values of adhering to the Constitution and limiting government re-energized by Reagan...very disappointing...

For me, Cruz is the only one who has fought the “lip service” of the GOP, his own party, including on immigration. The Rubio types get bought by the establishment....

Aside from his his arrogance and obvious insecurities, my only reason to like Trump is “the wall” and the fact that he articulated this as a major issue for most of the American people. The rest of his very non-detailed positions leave me to pause. For example when he says he will replace Obamacare...he usually answers that it will be a “terrific system” and “people will not be dying in the streets”! That’s not a plan...lately when challenged he talks about portability, HSAs, and removing state insurance boundaries. BTW, these are all thing mentioned in the Cruz plan. But, then Trump has also hinted at using Medicare as a single-payer system for a government run healthcare...I guess I just can’t trust that he won’t revert back to his liberal genetics upon election...

Or we may really have a circus - if Trump AND Sanders run as alternate candidates.

Who benefits in a 4-way race? We do!

George Will is a moron. This years most urgent task is to stop the unchecked invasion of our country that Obama and Will’s friends have supported for years.
