Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton just gave his critics all the ammunition they need.

Already under fire for how he conducts himself on the field, Newton went silent after his team's 24-10 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday in Super Bowl 50, sulking at the podium and essentially refusing to answer questions.

Immaturity. Classless move. An adult doesn’t do this.

He’s young, only 26. His handlers will get him to apologize and he will have a great career. He’s a good ball player.

To be fair, right after a huge emotional let-down may not be the best time for a press conference, for anybody.

I said to a friend earlier, he looks like someone who has been told he was special his whole life. I’m not saying this just ‘cause I live in Denver, but I’m really happy the spoiled tot lost.

SCAM...you just aren’t all that good. Without that defense you are simply average. Hopefully that is all sinking in now.punk.

All kids are told that these days. Of course, with him, it’s correct.

Both teams made a lot of mistakes; I wonder if the players are being too distracted by the hoopla; a few years ago they would isolate the players so they could focus on practice and game plan.

A dejected Cam Newton grew tired of answering questions about what went wrong in the Carolina Panthers’ 24-10 loss to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50.

Newton was sacked six times by the Broncos, whose defense led them to their win at Levi’s Stadium.

When he was asked why he struggled to complete passes, Newton simply got up and walked off the podium after about three minutes.

Before he prematurely ended his post-game news conference, Newton said the Panthers were outplayed by the Broncos, but the NFL MVP vowed to be back.

“We had our opportunities,” said Newton, who was 18 of 41 for 245 yards with an interception and two lost fumbles that led to the only Broncos touchdowns.

“It wasn’t nothing special they did. We dropped balls, turned the ball over, gave up sacks, threw errant passes. They scored more points than we did.”
