It’s almost over for Hillary: This election is a mass insurrection against a rigged system

It’s almost over for Hillary: This election is a mass insurrection against a rigged system

Sanders has ended the coronation and fired up the grass roots. Now Clinton's electability argument is crumbling too

Bill Curry

It would be hard to overstate what Bernie Sanders has already achieved in his campaign for president, or the obstacles he’s had to surmount in order to achieve it. Not only has he turned a planned Hillary Clinton coronation into an exercise in grass-roots democracy, he’s reset the terms of the debate. We are edging closer to the national conversation we so desperately need to have. If we get there, all credit goes to Bernie.

Many of those obstacles were put in place by Democratic national party chair and Clinton apparatchik Deborah Wasserman Schultz. Without pretense of due process, Schultz slashed the number of 2016 debates to six, down from 26 in 2008, and scheduled as many as she could on weekends when she figured no one would be watching. To deprive would-be challengers of free exposure, Schultz robbed voters of free and open debate and ceded the spotlight to the dark vaudeville of the Republicans. That Sanders got this far in spite of her is a miracle in itself.

Sanders got bagged again in Iowa, this time by a state party chair, one Andrea McGuire. Like Schultz, McGuire’s specialty is high-dollar fund raising, and like Schultz she was deeply involved in Clinton’s 2008 campaign. Under the esoteric rules of the Iowa Democratic caucuses, and after a string of lucky coin tosses, Clinton eked out a 700.52 to 696.86 margin, not in votes cast but in a mysterious commodity known as “delegate equivalents.”

We’re electing a president, not the senior warden of a Mason’s lodge.

In ‘68 Hubert the Hump skipped the primaries and still got the nod at the convention.
If Hitlery goes tits-up in some Demo gotterdammerung Lord of the Flies climax (I’m sorry about the mental picture), I can see Creepy Joe wandering the floor and copping feels, and the nomination.
It’s the Repblicans to lose and the ‘rats know it, so why not run VP Eeeewww!?

“...down from 26 in 2008...”

OK, 6 is too few, but 26 seems like a ridiculous amount. How many did the Rs have last time? It seemed like there was one every week.

I’m not sure it helped us at all.

Hillary is a loser and they know it. Too bitchy and mean to campaign. Too many lies and too much thievery and other rotten, smelly “baggage.” Makes her a losing candidate That’s their key problem. They don’t want to lose their control of the levers of power

Obama was elected because of national opposition against Hillary.

LOL - seems Salon doesn’t like dirty ticks with the vote when it done against their guy...

Here’s the bad news Bill Curry of Salon - you ain’t seen nothin’ yet... Just wait til Sanders gets to South Carolina... He might be up in the polls but he’ll still lose... Yep, no such thing as voter ‘manipulation’..

Biden’s a masher, that can’t be denied, and looking at that picture of the young girl is just painful. I hate to sound like some kind of feminist, but if you’re a girl you’ve been there at least once. Just usually not with the VPOTUS.

But clearly some of the older gals are all in. Esp. the biker chick. You know she’s got the picture hanging on her wall.

But if you see the larger version the 2 guys who were there with her look less happy.

I’m glad to hear liberals saying that but I’ll believe she’s politically dead
when the Dims nominate someone other than Hillary.

Just maybe, Dr.Jill doesn’t have the best bedside manner in the conjugal sense. At least that’s what Joe tells them.

I wonder if Biden or Bloomberg will suddenly decide, er, be forced to run to keep Bernie out.

Mentioned in the article is that Bernie Sanders most likely won the popular vote in Iowa but it is reported instead that Shrillary won by 700-696 "SDEs . . . "

Could very well happen yes. But they’d better enter fast because Bernie is really on a roll and its gonna be too late soon I think for anyone to stop him IMHO

“ALMOST OVER” as in she pretty much has it wrapped up with enough illegal votes and immigrants jammed in to every precinct to tip the EC results. And just in case millions of pre-cast ballots have been distributed to every single car trunk or ever single precinct captain in the US.
