Cruz's father: 'Check the fruit' before voting
WND ^ | 2/7/2016 | PAUL BREMMER

Rafael Cruz, the father of GOP presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz, is warning Americans to do some serious fruit-checking before they vote this election season.

"There are many campaign conservatives - people that will tell you what you want to hear," Cruz said during a recent interview on the Jesse Lee Peterson Show. "What I recommend is stop listening to the rhetoric, look at their record. Stop listening to what they say. Look at what they've done and what they do.

"Jesus put it this way: 'You shall know them by their fruits.' Check the fruit."

Cruz believes if voters examine the fruits his son Ted has borne, they will see they can trust him. He noted Ted has been at the forefront of many battles, such as the fight to repeal Obamacare, the fight to preserve the Second Amendment, and the fight for the right to life.

Jesse Lee Peterson, the host, told Rafael how much he values Ted's principled stands in the Senate.

"I think most Americans appreciate the way he stood up to the RINO Republicans and others who would not deal with Barack Obama the proper way, just allowing him to do whatever he wants," said Peterson, a WND columnist and author of "The Antidote." "For me, that stood out like nothing else. I do appreciate that."

The elder Cruz, who authored the new book "A Time for Action: Empowering the Faithful to Reclaim America," replied that's the very reason so many Washington insiders dislike Ted, because he exposes the establishment.

I am voting for the ONLY rich guy running who is not bought by rich donors such as Robert Mercer.

BTW, I spend about 4 hours a day, on average, in Bible reading and study both devotional and as it relates to my ministry as a cult deprogrammer.

//No, it is not about prophets, the test for prophets is if what they say comes 100% true.//

Again, check your Bible - It IS specifically about testing prophets. You are correct (Using Deuteronomy) but Jesus didn’t say that in Deuteronomy 18:22, but in Matthew 7:15-20 which is what Cruz Sr is referencing. Look it up, Jesus is talking about prophets. Do you need me to cut and paste it for you?

As far the other part I was quoting the other poster who claimed that, not me. I do think Cruz thinks he is a political Jesus.

Cruz claims to be anointed (part of dominion theology), he tells people to put on the whole armor of God (again misuse of Scripture) to prepare for political attacks against him. His father likens him to a prophet (by their fruits). All you have to do is see the Cruzers on here who place him on messiah level as the ‘only one’ who can ‘save this country’. I am a cult deprogrammer, and I see a lot of cult like characteristics in the Cruz camp.

//Uh, you obviously know little about true saved Christian’s. You don’t know their hearts, but you can judge their motives and salvation./

I obviously know a great deal. NO one but God can know anyone’s heart - that is biblical, but Christians ARE called to judge the works and actions of those claiming to be part of the Body of Christ. Cruz’s actions and words condemn him.

The fact that people who don’t know him impart that he is a ‘true saved Christian’ is very telling that they know nothing about it since they have no way of knowing that.

Also the only rich so-called republican candidate that donated to Hillary. Matter of fact, of the 96 people The Trump has donated to, only 48 called themselves republicans. A monkey throwing darts at a chart couldn't have split donations any better. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) recieved the most money. McCain oddly enough was his top choice for republican donations. $420,000 Trump has donated to committees, the largest recipient has been the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee with $116,000.

How much judging is it to hear the very words of Trump (never asked forgiveness) which is a major tenet of Christianity and taking Trump at his own word? If a pastor asks a person if they have had a personal relationship with Jesus, and they say no, is the pastor wrong in assuming they are headed to hell?

//How much judging is it to hear the very words of Trump (never asked forgiveness) which is a major tenet of Christianity and taking Trump at his own word? //

Red Herring (logical fallacy). This isn’t about Trump but Cruz’s comments. I never really mentioned Trump. He is a non issue in this matter. But since you asked...Unlike Cruz who panders to Evangelicals and uses his religion to get votes, Trump identifies as a Presbyterian, not an Evangelical. I know several Presbyterians (esp older ones) who reject the idea of being born again. Furthermore, I know many Christians to don’t think they need to ask for forgiveness. Cruz is using Christ to get votes, Trump isn’t. I don’t believe Trump is Born Again but that is not a requirement to be President. Unlike some of you, I do not confuse my faith with politics. If Trump is like many other nominal Christians I come across daily, he doesn’t know there is an issue. I can say the same for most of those in the race.

The issue with Cruz is he does know but he misuses scripture and takes it out of context. He uses Christ to get votes and that is an insult to my Lord. That is what I take issue with.

//If a pastor asks a person if they have had a personal relationship with Jesus, and they say no, is the pastor wrong in assuming they are headed to hell?//

Again, many Christians don’t understand or use that terminology. Your error is assuming that all Christians are Evangelical when that is not true. Also, I did say words were a way to judge those who claim to be Christians. Words and actions. I am judging Cruz on his words and actions as well as his proclaimed Dominionist theology.

I am too, trained in theophostics ans deliverance. Very well versed in the lies of Dominionism. Just spent the last 5 years dealing with a large dominionist cult but I have yet to hear some key phrases pop up. I will be watching.
The use of the armor of God for politics is indeed odd, but being in the position of cantidate for the president you better be anointed for it or you are going where you ought not. and if so, you will be opposed, so bring your armor.

Context changes things. Sarah talks like a dominionist, Ted? Never noticed, but possible. If so, he is not annointed and will be a disaster.

Strange you did not mention the Trump camp. The biggest sign is the fill in the blank faith that Donald will do as he says, not as he does. When shown history, they are willing to make excuses and generate a new history on the spot. When confronted wit the lack of plan they provide one for him. Classic reality disconnect syndrome. Another very clear syndrome is the adoption of personality traits from the leader, surely you have noticed the adoption of beligerant insults and egocentric speech patterns.

Truely the American societal norm has tendencies in sports, music and politics towards cultism, we worship Hollywood even though we know they are actors. But the Trump thing is rght up there with Obamas following.

With no God, america will follow any foolish thing.

¶
Judge not, that ye be not judged.
`

Mat 7:2

For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

Mat 7:3

And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Mat 7:4

Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

Mat 7:5

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

The context of the conversation was broader than just prophets. Sorry for the disjointed conversation but cut and paste on a tablet is beyone easy for me.

If Cruz senior quoted non deut, then he perhaps is guilty of mislabeling, not intent. The broad meaning has always been (and a very strong Jewish principle) that you can only judge a man by his actions, not his words.

Now seeing how you cut the thought off at 15, instead of including the whole sermon as a whole I see the error and the logic of how you got there, not so scary now, whew.

Nevermind! Gnite FRiend

‘Cruz basically took what they wanted out of the Gang of Eight bill because he took amnesty out of it. That killed the bill, Cruz poisoned the bill with sections that not only included what you Trumpettes like to repeat (The H1-B section) but neglect to mention the other parts. Why is that? You know why.’

You cannot be this confused. The Senate overwhelmingly voted down Cruz amendment, and then overwhelmingly passed the Gang of Eight bill. There was no poison pill. For an amendment to be a poison pill, it has to pass. Cruz amendment came nowhere close to passing.

Also, on Cruz own webpage he doesn’t list his amendment as a poison pill. Rather, he points out all the good changes it would have made IF it had passed. And recently in an interview Cruz said, “Of course I wanted the bill [Gang of Eight] to pass, with my amendment.”

Like burning “principles” to ashes on the altar of winning??

Does he mean check out how many times he has been divorced and how he earns a living from religion ?

I guess it's no longer in vogue to see the light, be saved, turn your life around, and use that saved life to spread the Word..........
