Most campaign speeches tend to be repeated over and over again, but most politicians will switch it up from time to time, add things about the particular town or city he is in, or delete old stuff. That’s to be expected. I don’t expect a politician, or anyone else, to go from one event to another and have a completely fresh speech at each stop.

But, it does seem that Rubio, more than most, repeats his standard speech over without any changes.

There is a bright side to this being at least he’s smart enough to memorize a speech.

I can think of a politician that must use a teleprompter for most events.

He does the same thing when answering questions. He talks rapidly as if pulling out a memorized reply.

Consider: whether one is a fan of Rubio or not, the content of the point he repeated is a significant one which may underlie any adequate understanding of events of the past 7 1/2 years.

In such a case, his point would be far more important than the one being made by assertions about "lack of experience," for it gets to motive, and hints at the degree to which a determined ideologue, in concert with his/her likeminded ideologues can outweigh "experience," or the lack thereof, with determination and disregard for "the People's" will in the matter.

One might conclude that if a President who was devoted to liberty and the Constitution gathered enough of his/her fellows in a determination to restore America, then determination and regard for freedom might likewise prevail.
During the 2012 campaign, Romney laid Obama's actions or inactions, to his lack of experience, or just not "understanding," when, in fact, they resulted from a deliberate plan and stubborn determination to "fundamentally transform" America.

Rubio, last night, just drilled right through Christie's "experience" argument to show that Progressive Democrats, in order to advance their decades-long agenda to "change" America and shift it hard Left, shifted from an "experienced" Clinton to an "inexperienced" Obama.

Just look at what has happened to America as a result of that choice!!

#16 what I saw in rubio’s canned spiel.....he has memorized those sentences. No belief, no feeling just words put together by his advisors based on polling

When he was pushed and pressed putting him under stress he went fight or flight tunnel vision. At that point he could do nothing else but regurgitate it from muscle memory.

When I ran for office, a consultant that worked with several winning campaigns gave me this advice on campaign speeches.

1. Never use notes (teleprompters). If you don’t know what you want to say by heart, why should anybody care.

2. Be prepared for every contentious issue in your race. If there’s an issue facing 5% of voters (annexation, power plant vote, etc) and you don’t know about it, there goes 5% of your vote and the margin of victory in half of all elections.

3. Memorize an opening and an ending. Pick 5 issues, memorize talking points about them. Use 3 in random order at each speech. Pick the three you think most appeals to that audience.

Your stump speech goes like this: opening, 3 things (or 2 plus that 5% voter issue if that’s who you’re talking to), ending. Stay on script, but be able to ad lib if a particular issue is brought up.

The above gives you an outline but creates enough flexibility that you aren’t stuck in having to say what’s next to stay on script.

4. Always be ready with a 20 sec answer for why you’re running and why you’re qualified, etc.

Stump speeches are just that. They’re suppose to provide the campaign meme without getting the candidate off message.

In one race, an opponent would talk about being “on the pointed tip of the spear” at the same point in every speech. It got so that the usual campaign staff for several campaigns would all mouth in unison, “pointed tip of the spear” at the right moment.

There’s nothing wrong with memorized campaign memes.

Rubio’s problem was an inability to think on his feet when called out on it. He was so locked in to his meme, he couldn’t move.

It was really quite clever to take Rubio’s strength and twist it on him. That’s why Presidential campaigns ain’t little league.

Which will become really obvious if he ever makes it to an actual one on one debate (rather than the media event soundbite competitions with a dozen people on the stage).

Actually, it is the Teleprompter in Chief that must use a clueless politician to read its speeches for most events.

Giving the same stump speech on every stump isn’t that uncommon. Saying the same canned phrase three times IN THE SAME DEBATE — that’s a problem.

That would be because they are the only conservatives in the race and hold similar views on most things. Rubio has probably fatally damaged his chances by supporting the Gang of Eight Bill to legalize the illegal aliens in an era of total Obozo lawlessness on the subject.

Trump does not echo the speeches of Cruz or Rubio because he IS NOT A CONSERVATIVE. Instead, he is running Ringling Brothers/Barnum & Bailey campaign for POTUS. It is a campaign of distraction because there is very little substance.

If someone points out that Trump, interviewed by Chuck Todd in 1999, claimed to be as "pro-choice" as anyone in the USA and specifically supported partial birth abortion, the Trumpettes chime in with: But that was 17 years ago and he is pro-life now! (After all, what reason would he hae to lie?) Or Ronald Reagan signed abortion into law in California and later changed HIS mind. These are the political equivalent of: Look, over there! That's a bearded lady! Have you seen our dancing bears? Look at the elephants! And the lion tamer! Wow!

Trump's alleged moment of truth on abortion, according to Trump, was when he was holding the REALLY AMAZING infant of a friend in his lap and he realized that that REALLY EXTRAORDINARY kid ought not to have been aborted and The Donald was glad! Then the skies opened and a light shone down on God's other other son and we were expected to be satisfied. NOT!

Did TRUMP ever hold his own infants in his lap? Didn't that convince him that abortion is unacceptable? Maybe he does not think his own kids REALLY AMAZING? We, as pro-life voters, need to know.

Rubio has his flaws but his answer on abortion was pitch perfect and OUGHT to be repeated over and over again by each and every GOP POTUS candidate.

Our attention was directed to the first of four videos of a campaign appearance by Rubio as an example of his repetitive campaign speech. In that clip, he told New Hampshirites that he really did not like snow (probably on the day TRUMP!!! cancelled his NH appearances and went to warmer SC instead) but he showed up in the snow AND he introduced his children. The first half of the clip was the audience applauding him and there was not much else

In order to avoid repetition, should he introduce other children at other rallies as though they were his own? Or perhaps express indifference or an actual love for 12 inches of snow? Soon he would be no more credible than TRUMP!!!!

How do you define "serious political people?

BTW, I admit (mea culpa) that I agree with Rubio's approach although I prefer Cruz as candidate. Rubio flat out declares that he would rather lose an election than betray the pro-life cause, that each child's life takes precedence but that he would sign a bill with exceptions that prevented SOME additional exceptions. So would I but I recognize that as a moral flaw in me and in him. OTOH, it would also be a moral flaw to abandon any child that could have been saved. Thus a genuine dilemma but, as Rubio says: Err on the side of life.

If TRUMP!!!! is nominated, I shall likely vote for him but it will be my most difficult vote since voting for a putz like Gerald Feckless Ford (and being relieved when he lost). The Demonrats have decided to give us only a choice between a wild-eyed raving socialist and Bernie Sanders. Our country's degeneration accelerates if TRUMP!!! is the GOP nominee.

I shall watch the three other videos from that rally before further response.
