It's a cultural and religious thing, and when we Americans get more Muslims into the country, we'll then understand and see honor killings as a normal and natural thing, and most importantly, as what Allah intended.

Kids in school now and in colleges, are all beginning to understand (indoctrination can perform wonders) the importance of being tolerant towards other religions, no matter how horrific we might view the practices of those religions now.

The article later notes that honor killings usually happen in Muslim countries. I'm surprised that the NY Times would print such an Islamophobic statement. Some editor is going to get chewed out, for sure.

I didn't miss the "irony" of the NY Times article, either. They published this piece because of a "movie", say how horrible the attack was, the victim lived and "forgave" her attacker by coercion, and someone should fix it.

Pure "fluff" piece.....since they conveniently ignore the "American elephant" in the room that large numbers of women in this country are being physically/emotionally abused by the "Religion of Peace" through forced marriages, rape, beatings and FGM.

Where do they mention the 2015 report for the Govt that estimates there are about 27 honor killings in America, per year?

Heck, the editor will probably get a raise for printing this "tame" story.
