Carson says an apologetic Cruz asked for a meeting at debate (busTED)
Washington Post ^ | 2/7/16 | Robert Costa

Ben Carson said late Saturday that Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas approached him during an off-camera break at ABC’s Republican debate to apologize for his campaign’s conduct during the Iowa caucuses and requested a one-on-one meeting with him.

“He said he’s sorry that this happened and he wants to sit down and talk,” Carson said in an interview with The Washington Post. “He wants to discuss the whole thing and clear the air.”

In the interview, Carson said pointedly that if the meeting with Cruz is scheduled, that does not mean the the senator will be absolved.

“The evidence is there,” he said, citing voice-mails that his campaign has released of Cruz allies telling caucus-goers that Carson was likely to suspend his bid. “Tapes, written communications, it’s all out there. People have to decide whether this kind of behavior is acceptable to them.”

No one has yet been able to provide any evidence that they said Carson had quit.

Carson looks like he is out. Iowans need to know before they vote. Most will go to Cruz, I hope.

What his campaigners did is not even in question , all they did was repeat the CNN report that they picked up from the CARSON camp

No, that wasn't "all they did".

They took the CNN report and ALTERED IT, and then used it to gain an advantage for Cruz in the caucus.

In other words, THEY LIED.

Expect those involved to get promotions soon for their actions. As Carson said, it shows a lot about character.

“Cruz cheated in Iowa, and was shown up for it last night by both Carson and Trump.”

Cruz did nothing wrong in Iowa. Carson screwed up, not Cruz. You might as well say Christie is trying to steal the election in NH from Rubio by highlighting Rubio’s screw-ups.

Cruz was being nice to Carson in apologizing. He didn’t owe one, but he was being nice - and Carson proved by his response that he is only pretending to be a nice guy.

He’s in the race to sell books and get known nationally. Period. He is not and never has been a serious candidate.

It’s time for Carson to stop his childishness. He or his people started the whole fiasco by telling the liberal media this information at the very start of the caucus. Now he wants to hide under Trump’s wing and like all good Christians, continue to vengeance by letting the big bully talk for him.

Why is he asking Carson for a meeting. I wonder.

My theory is that Cruz wants to sit Carson down and have him watch the broadcast Cruz's people were bouncing off of. Carson keeps arguing the CNN tweets; Cruz's people were referring to the broadcast. Cruz figures -- correctly, IMHO -- that any reasonable person who watched that broadcast would understand what happened.

Or maybe Cruz wants to show Carson the Carson interview that ticked me off -- actually seeing it might shake some sense into Carson. Probably wishful thinking on my part, but I've been hoping and praying that someone would sit Carson down and make him really look at what he's saying and doing, and, who knows, maybe Cruz is the guy to do it.

I've wondered about that myself a while back, basically wondering why these people weren't working in the Cruz campaign given the obvious connections to his camp.

Ted going for an appeal, so to speak, isn't like him unless he's afraid there's more that could come out. He's not doubt planning to work the, "we're both Christians" angle on Carson in private and since his wife was raised SDA he probably hopes there's common ground for some sort of deal that keeps Carson from going public with anything that does bubble up to the surface with regard to people who left the Carson campaign and moved to Cruz campaign.

Has Dr Carson asked trump for an apology yet? No? It was trump’s nasty attacks which drove Carson’s polls down.
Cruz.s team tweeted a news story. Thats fair game.

Really...you’re blaming Trump for Cruz’s campaign’s actions? Pathetic!

Carson is milking this trumped up non-story to death.

He is the one that started the whole thing with his absurd statement and his not campaigning in New Hampshire.

Now he is showing how classless and hypocritical he really is by running to the press to report on a private conversation.

And who is Carson to "absolve" anybody of anything? Why doesn't he look in the mirror and admit either his campaign is incompetent, he is lazy, or he not a serious candidate but is doing the bidding of the GOPe by trying to split the outsider vote, the conservative vote and the evangelical vote.

Carson is a fraud.

Cruz haters delude themselves that voters actually care about this.

Most voters do care about integrity and character. It’s becoming increasingly clear that Raphael has little of either.

Or perhaps, Cruz did nothing wrong, and he is trying to clear his name?

Seen Carson campaigning lately? Like since the tweet? Hmmmm?

Or is all this baseless slander and vilification just trumpeting something out of proportion for personal gain?

Me thinks the over the top sliming indicates you all are guilty of the very thing you are conveniently offended by.

Cultists is very appropriate, the severe lack of critical thinking replaced by emotitive respond is a real red flag. This is the Obama coronation all over again.

Haaaahaha. Illegal?? In a campaign?? This must be your first rodeo. All’s fair in love and politics is the old saying. I’ve followed through many in my life and this is nothing; in addition, it wasn’t done purposely. Purposely would be to say he was quitting when there was NO MEDIA mention of it. When it was made up out of thin AIR - that is on purpose.

Before this primary is over, many things will be invented out of thin AIR against each other. Unfortunately the campaign managers of these candidates don’t know we are running against the Democrat Party and are trying to stop the GOPe. instead. By the time we get to the Dems it will be just as it was four years ago and we will have cooked our own geese.

FYI on Infowars last week, Roger Stone [Trump op] explained something I havent heard told about:

Cruz campaign, with guy running it with slimy background, spent a LOT of TIME and MONEY, ahead of time, planning bad against Carson. Doing deep expensive mining to find potential Carson supporters, etc etc

We know some — as the mailers, and the liars appointed at caucuses -
