Elect Mexican politicians and you get Mexican government.

¡POR SUPUESTO!

What else is new?

Again?
Crystal City & Carrizo Springs have stuff like this going on every decade or so. They’re probably just the ones we hear about.

San Antonio has a few, too. We’re about due for another one. Unless everybody’s gotten so used to it, they barely notice anymore.

I also mentioned “incompetence” which is a form of “bias by omission”.

Nowhere in the article is/are the Party affiliations mentioned.

The standard for writing about politicians is to identify them by position (i.e. Congressman, City Councilwoman, Mayor, etc) and Party affiliation (often with the state attached to it) such as (D-Cal.), (R-Ill), (Ind. - Pa), (D-NYC), etc.

I’m an Old School journalist. My editors told me to be “concise, accurate, and document everything”. “Everything” includes political identities.

“Elect Mexican politicians and you get Mexican government.”

You saved me the typing! My guess is that all of the Texas counties bordering the Rio Grande are in similar circumstances. Then, it’s the same over in Arizona.

Thank you for referencing that article Osage Orange. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

”Almost every top official in a remote South Texas city was arrested Thursday under a detailed federal [emphasis added] indictment that accuses them of taking bribes from contractors and sending city workers to help an illegal gambling operator nicknamed ”Mr. T.””

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponents Argument

There is not enough information given in referenced article to be sure about the following possible constitutional problem.

Since this is not a voting rights issue, if the federal indictments are not based on federal laws reasonably based on one of the clauses in Congresss constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers, regulating INTRAstate gambling not one of those powers, then the mixed-up feds have no constitutional authority to hand indictments to anybody for the reasons indicated imo.

What am I overlooking?

Before our school was destroyed by immigration and desegregation we'd schedule Crystal City for an easy game or breather. The coach one year (1966) drove an Econoline van with the team and one trainer to play Crystal City. One kid got injured and we still beat Crystal City 60+ points with ten players.

Oh...heck. I'm so used to it....I hardly pay attention. But assumed all were Dims...Pretty much a given.

Yes, you are of course correct.

If it would have been a pubbie town...it would be noted.

How is this any different than what happened with the Clinton Foundation?

I know, rhetorical question.

If it looks like a skunk, walks like a skunk, stinks like a skunk and has a stripe down its back....it must be a skunk.

The skunks we smell here is without question.....Democrats!

The key difference between a skunk and a Democrat is that a skunk has a WHITE STRIPE down its back. A Democrat has a YELLOW STRIPE down its back.

Skunks fight. Democrats surrender. Believe me, I’ve tangled with both.
