Ted Cruz Scores a Huge New Hampshire Endorsement Ahead of the Primary
The Politistick ^ | February 4, 2016 | Jennifer Burke

The most recent Real Clear Politics polling average for projected results in the New Hampshire primary has bombastic billionaire and reality TV star Donald Trump with 32.8% of the projected vote with Florida Senator Marco Rubio currently edging out Texas Senator Ted Cruz 11.8% to 11.3% in pre-primary polling.

But, if New Hampshire Conservative Majority Project (NHCMP) has anything to do with it, Ted Cruz will come out on top. The 3.000 member group has thrown its support behind the consistent constitutional conservative while simultaneously hurling a major slam at Marco Rubio.

WMUR reports on the endorsement by NHCMP.

NHCMP BACKS CRUZ. The 3,000-member New Hampshire Conservative Majority Project is endorsing Ted Cruz for president. In an announcement, Chairman Kevin McHugh praised Cruz’s conservative credentials and bashed Marco Rubio, saying that if he is elected, he would be “America’s Angela Merkel.”

Though the group did not explain the Angela Merkel comparison, they were likely referring to concerns that many conservatives have regarding Rubio’s sponsorship of the controversial Gang of Eight amnesty bill. Merkel has come under fire in Germany for their immigration crisis.

The group describes itself on Facebook as “working to help elect and maintain a low tax, pro-liberty, conservative majority in New Hampshire.”

Considering 97K votes won the NH primary in 2012, 3K (if they align) is a pretty nice chunk.

I don’t think endorsements matter much but my impression is some Cruz ones do because they become part of the campaign, talking to their friends and neighbors and bringing others along. That was my impression from Iowa.

Oh, Sarah. That was great. I mentioned Sheriff Joe because he’s been fighting the world just like Trump to try and plug the border.

Of course no longer an issue since Obama said let ‘em in and our bought-and-paid-for Congress is on the sidelines.

In other news. Jimmy Carter and Scott Brown endorsed Trump.

Isn't that just precious?

I hope Cruz didn’t really say that. As a nurse for 40 years I was privileged to know many ill and dying Christians who prayed often. In fact how does one enter heaven if they have not passed from this life and often by illness.

Dang. When this endorsement was announced Cruz was at 11.8 and Rubio was at 11.3.........now Rubio is at 18 and Cruz is at 13 percent. Doesn’t seem to have worked very well for Cruz. Such a shame.

... What a bunch of hypocrites.
Not sure who you heard that from. I think Cruz can win NH. Not saying he will but a good shot. Last poll with internals said 30% would never vote for Trump, 4% would never vote for Cruz. Head to head in NH he beats Trump.

So, using your incorrect methodology of just using the CNN/WMUR Poll, that means Cruz went up 1.2 %, Rubio up 6.7%, and Trump plummeted 3.8%.

Sure. Why not. If Cruz is proud of 1.2 percent cool......basically Trump will win and Cruz could end up 3rd through 6th. And you may not care but it is about delegates.
