"President Obama spoke warmly about Islam during his speech at a mosque today, highlighting the contributions that Muslims had made to the fabric of American society.
“Islam has always been part of America,†he said, detailing the beginnings of the religion among African slaves brought to America. He also pointed out that Thomas Jefferson wrote in the Virginia statute for religious freedom that the “Mohammedan†should have his faith protected in the United States.
Obama met with Muslim leaders during a visit to the Islamic Society of Baltimore, before delivering a speech there. This is Obama’s first visit to a mosque as president – although George W. Bush also visited a mosque in New York City after the attacks of 9/11.
During his speech, he praised the religion for being a religion of peace – not the hate preached by groups like ISIS.
“The very word Islam comes from ‘Salam’ – peace,†he said. “The standard greeting is ‘As-Salaam-Alaikum’ – ‘Peace be upon you,’†he explained".....

Then has the utter idiocy to state that the name Islam comes from the word for peace.. salaam. IT DOES NOT as anyone in any university who is not a bought pretender like this one will tell you. ISLAM means submission-- submission to the will of Allah whose many other names serve to produce that submission utterly and totally and ultimately through violence and coercion. He then has the "audacity" (LOL) to claim Jefferson defended islam and that islam has always been part of our history-- riiiight-- they've been part of the creation of the US Navy and Marines to take out the Barbary Pirates, and that Thomas Jefferson and John Adams both read the koran-- to KNOW OUR ENEMY- as they clearly stated in their memoirs and documents, and took actions to destroy them outright. Our present... dent is a freaking LIAR of the first order and Knows it. He is a creature of their creation, and literally a tool of islam, as is his highly manipulative leftist/marxist staff. In the grand tradition of Lenin-- who marveled at how "useful" the islamics of Ukraine have been in culling that area to the Bolsheviks/Soviets-- by using their religious leaders to do this- then having those leaders killed. It happened. It cannot be allowed to happen in the Land of the Free and Home of the Brave.

Yes— well documented is the conversation between Jefferson and his representatives with the muftis in charge of the ransom gathering pirates. Large numbers of US sailors kidnapped and ransomed (and other country’s sailors as well— and these idiots paid the ransom— not Thomas Jefferson or John Adams). It is marvelous to read this history.
