“I say we should let the candidates fight it out and not be so eager to trash either one of our leading candidates. “
To goldstategop: do you have a problem with Jim’s plea?
I’m with you on this. But Trump’s behavior lately of focusing his attack on Cruz instead of Rubio has made me wonder if he’s fit to lead.
I’m with ya, prett much my thoughts exactly: Prefer Cruz, but would take Trump reluctantly.
And let’s hope we won’t be fooled again.

Beautifully stated, Jim. Every bit of it!!
Numerous national media outlets are pursuing multiple allegations of infidelity involving U.S. Senator Marco Rubio of Florida â all in the aftermath of the âmistress bombâ report we published earlier this week.
Specifically, three mainstream media outlets have independently supplied us with the names of two additional women said to be romantically linked to the GOP establishmentâs candidate of choice. These names are in addition to the woman we referenced earlier this week â a lobbyist whose alleged proximity to Rubio was discovered during a deep dive into the candidateâs disastrous personal finances.
Meanwhile, a national operative familiar with the opposition research on Rubio described his extramarital dalliances as âserial.â
âHe is going down,â the operative told us point blank. Iâll have more to reveal on Rubio as we get closer to the material being relevant. Why publish now? Itâs not like heâs rising in the polls. Why not wait until the debates or until the January caucus? Letâs be clear here: I have the names of the women, I have the addresses, and I have the evidence. It is a little funny that people who canât do the work always seem to say it canât be done. But seriously why not wait until all the Establishment people come out in favor of Rubio so that itâs that much easier to screen would be candidates in a Cruz administration?
Someone who is by education and experience trained to work through the system, game the system, make compromises with the system, is presently a member of a very small and elite component of the system, now seeking the highest position within the system, will be inclined to make symbolic moves that the system may not like, but can without a doubt live with knowing that tomorrow is another day, and another chance to revisit any issue. That leads to a higher probability of rebellion, not a peaceful rebellion that defuses the anger and frustration.
Someone from outside the system will by virtue of that fact alone need to focus the anger and the fact that people are fed up to tear down nonfunctional portions of the system and eliminate the most bothersome parts of the system. Otherwise an outsider has no leverage and he knows it. Relying on the people to support him is the card he can play and play it by putting before the system exactly what he promises and daring them to refuse to do it, not by working through the system and tinkering around the edges.
JMHo, and everyone has one.
Amen!
BTTT.
Like a shot of coke ..... a cola.
My thoughts, exactly.
Thank you, kind sir, for the leadership and venue!
I forgot the question mark.
Take is easy Mariner.
LOL
A very simple rule to follow that will save a lot of grief. With rare exceptions, other than opinions, we know next to nothing about our fellow FReepers.
Trump, then Cruz.
I think Cruz is, at heart, a globalist; open borders, foreign workers and anti-constitutional trade agreements and all. For me, Cruz’s attachment to globalism puts into question his loyalty to the constitution and the American people.
I support Trump because of his position on illegal immigration, Muslim importing and building the wall. I think he knows a snake and a bad deal when he sees one. But I think he’s a liberal in other ways that I won’t like.
Actually, I think both have their drawbacks and who knows what they will do in office. Both are far better than anything else we have in choice. The Rinos hate ‘em both. That is good.
The adult law clerk lawyers turned politicians are in the race? After many decades of this, yet another one is the trick!
Just perfect.
Even if the perfect candidate (Cruz) wins, the mess we are in is so deep, dark and ingrained that I'm not very optimistic. Whoever wins is going to get crushed under the strain of a collapsing civilization.
2 Samuel 22:7
In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.
Well said! Cruz is my #1 pick, but Trump is my second pick. I don't know why so many Freepers have gone all or nothing for one guy.
I agree with your scenario, but after the Rubio takedown its gonna be Paul Ryan by GOPe acclimation at the convention. (according to the little birdies in the media)
Speaks for me. One lonely thing about being a leader is that inevitably some of your followers are going to embarrass you. Lots of that going on around here, way too much of it.
“I say we should let the candidates fight it out and not be so eager to trash either one of our leading candidates. Digging up and publishing dirt and rumors on either is not doing our side any good and is potentially destructive in the long run. And trashing our fellow FReepers is something that should never be done. This is going to be a long fight and we do not want to lose too many of our friends.”
Thanks.
Thank you, Jim.
Trump would certainly lose in the general. Besides, who wants an election between two angry, narcissistic liberals?
