If America crosses the Rubiocon, there will be no going back. I am not even sure we will ever reach the Rubiocon. Almost a whole year left of Obama.

Here is a question:

Can an anchor baby with Cuban parents get a top secret security clearance?

I heard about a guy who had problems getting one because his wife was Canadian.

And how does this translate to the office of the presidency and national security in relation to NBC?

Excellent question...Sadly, did not seem to stop a Kenyan from running :( That said, seems that rubio’s citizenship is on the thinnest ice of all!

It's a summary of the "On the Issues" answers the candidates gave themselves.

Would Rubio be better than Hillary? Was George W. Bush better than Al Gore or John Kerry? Would Romney or McCain have been better than Obama? In most areas, yes. However, smooth talkers like Rubio (reminiscent of lightweight smooth operator Obama) who lies through his English teeth and tells the truth through his Hispanic teeth tells me all I need to know. He is a weasel not to be trusted. Amnesty is a huge national defense issue. The border is wide open. Rome is being overrun and the politicians quibble. None of them care what we the people want. Disgusting.

All problems you outlined were hardly tamed by any Republican in office - the federal bureaucracies are very dangerous and have been out of control for a long time. No one really touches them. Wonder why. Some terrible people have been named to SCOTUS by Republican presidents, so no guarantees there.

Now if Trump wins and 25% of the Bureaucrats quit and another 25% are fired, then we’re really talking Perestroika!

Again, good points and one of the reasons I included the GOPe in my comments. However, you are right, ultimately it is the voter who is responsible for his/her vote. Unfortunately though, I have come to the conclusion that the electorate has been so dumbed down by our education system and social media that it can no longer think critically and is easily led by the media and the GOPe. The voters and GOPe also allow proportional distribution of delegates AND open primaries. Pretty poor mixture.

I fully understand. I just can't see allowing Hillary there, no matter what it takes. That's why I keep saying, over and over, it's up to us to do something.

I've tried to find links on this site (and others) to people who live in early primary states and urge them to show up and ask a couple of pin point questions that will be heard by the media.

Did you know you can write a letter to the editor of any paper anywhere? I've written letters to the editors of newspapers in both New Hampshire and South Carolina.

A lot of people are quick to call me names - people I suspect are doing little more than that, or maybe sending email jokes to their friends.

The only thing the smarmy used car salesman will ignite in me if he wins the nomination is to make sure my voting days are over.

I thought I was the only one who feels as you do.

It won’t even be worth the cost of the gas to drive to the polls.

I understand your deep concern - never in my wildest dreams did I think Obama would win his first primary, and he had even less experience than Rubio. Two terms for Soetoro! Unbelievable. The only way that could happen is too many good people stayed home and let it happen.

I live in an early primary state that has an open primary. That’s why Michigan keeps going for RINOs- Dems and Independents can take a Repub ballot, and vice versa. I toy with the idea of taking the Dem ballot and voting for Bernie if the polls show strong support for a specific Republican. Trump is polling at 50%, so why not give Hillary one more stab before she goes off to prison. I can dream.

Can the Michigan primary make a difference, or o they consider things sewn up before you even vote? I get confused about how they say if someone wins Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina it’s over.

The Senate and House of Reps comprise the Electoral College - 538 votes (District of Columbia gets 3 votes by Constitutional Amendment). All States except Nebraska and Maine have a ‘winner take all’ for their electors.

Winning the 11 most populous states would give sufficient electoral votes to win (270 Electors). Michigan ranks 10th, so it is an important state to win. This is where cross-over voting has made the difference in Open Primary states, IMHO. I don’t know anyone who wanted McCain in 2008 in Michigan, but he won. Same with Romney in 2012, even though he was born and raised here but is still a whimpering RINO.

Here are the Top 11 most populated States with their elector counts adding to the needed 270:

California 55
Texas 38
Florida 29
New York 29
Illinois 20
Pennsylvania 20
Ohio 18
Georgia 16
North Carolina 15
Michigan 16
New Jersey 14

Of those 11, which ones would you put squarely in the ‘R’ column come election time?

Here are 21 states that if all went ‘R’ there still wouldn’t be enough electoral votes to win (229 votes) - didn’t include Nebraska or Maine due to their proportional counting of electors - also left off some states that have traditionally gone Democrat in the past, but could be in play:

Texas
Florida
Ohio
Georgia
North Carolina
Michigan
Indiana
Tennessee
Wisconsin
South Carolina
Alabama
Louisiana
Kentucky
Oklahoma
Iowa
Mississippi
Arkansas
Kansas
Idaho
South Dakota
Wyoming

It’s all about the numbers.

Thanks for that. Your explanation makes the talking head hype of it all being over by mid March seems to make no sense at all.

What does make sense is the idea I've heard of supporting all states adopting the proportional elector allocation.

Proportional elector allocation- now that would make the Establishment heads explode! We should have pushed for that after the 2000 Debacle. If we still have a country after this election, I am putting that on my To Do list.
Need to find out when all the Primaries are and add to my spreadsheet.

Okay- Here you go: 37 Primaries will be over by the end of March with 363 Electoral votes at stake. California, New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey (in the Top 11 states) don’t have their primaries until after March Madness. I still wouldn’t stake my reputation on what will happen and say “It will all be decided by March” - but I am not as smart as pundits, so who knows.
