Swap one and two. Politicians will drag their feet on security/enforcing the law; at least make it as unappetizing as possible FIRST.

Course, IMO, you miss one important point as well: Punish POLITICIANS who seek to thwart existing law

I only wish that were true!

Our favorite moderate Bob Dole wanted a ‘5 year timeout’ of ALL immigration. 1996 election.

Problem is, you are asking politicians to punish politicians. Won’t happen.

True. Turn is around on the actually problem, voters, and there’s a SLIGHT increase of expectation. Still, it is difficult, as they dig in like ticks, and game the system (as such as there is) in their favor: 98% re-elected.

Good, but not good enough. It will take about 100,000 school buses to deport this bunch - roughly the number in service in the US...

Sound like a GREAT summer job for the drivers, and the ones that keep them chained.

Let’s do it!

Comprehensive Immigration Reform

Hey, I have an idea.

Create a 2000 page immigration bill that nobody reads, is crafted by lobbyists and is presented to the floor for a vote within 24 hours of it being introduced.

That's pretty much the way DC works these days anyways.

“....Secure the border.
Cut illegal aliens off from freebies.
Punish employers who knowingly hire illegal aliens. ....”

This makes sense, but I would add we need to enforce the laws we already have.

‘Secure the border’ needs money. And cutting illegal aliens off from freebies would probably take a Federal Law, since we have already had judges rulling against it. .
