2/1/16

Posted on 02/01/2016 3:07:17 PM PST by markomalley

A search shows that nobody's opened up a live thread for tonight's caucuses. So here goes.

Predictions? For both the GOP and Dem nominations?

Eyewitness Accounts? See any funny business going on?

That’s another thing that’s shocking. Crazy Beck campaigns with Cruz and it actually helps him? Maybe Trump was right. Iowans are stupid.

True. Not bad to come in second in IA.

Huckabe and Santorum won, but never became the nominee.

On to NH!

Rubio is a concern. I expect the Bush people will coalesce around him.

Unfortunately, that is probably the biggest story of the night. While Rubio may not be viable in other states yet, the establishment and the media are going to coalesce behind him. Iowa could have knocked Cruz out, and cleared the way for an easy Trump win, but instead they have drawn the game out, at least in terms of the battle of the non-establishment candidates -- which ultimately helps the establishment more than anyone else.

Rest in pieces, Bush Dynasty.

Hopefully he and Gay’sItch tank hard in NH and recede into the ether.

How did Reagan do in his first state nomination attempt in 1979? I think he didn’t win either did he?

I think the reason Rubio is doing better than expected is the 30 minute infomercial....ala Perot.....very smart. There are still lots of disengaged people who are easily swayed by shiny objects while playing Candy Crush and shopping on their I Phones. . Remember that the mushy middle (18%) decides elections.

Who knows..but I think the GOP-E knows now they can win with Rubio. Rubio took Trump votes and I dont think he was expecting that to happen

“Worst news of the evening has nothing to do with Cruz or Trump: it’s the rise of Rubio.”

Very true.

I see this as a little bump in the road of a very long journey. At the other end of this road, I will be voting for Trump.

I hope Cruz AND Trump attack that amnesty pimp Rubio.

Not gonna happen, Cruz is for himself. He'll probably still go after Trump with ads of houses being bulldozed that never happened whatever it takes. My prayer is that the rest of the country is waking up or we're screwed. It will be Rubio vs. Hillary and it won't matter who wins. They just tacked another 2 trillion dollars on the debt without blinking, never slowed on migrants, border as open as ever and Rubio or Hillary will keep it going.

Trump probably told Huckabee he would help with his campaign debt if he showed up at his rally on Thursday night. Now that Iowa is over, Trump will tell the Huckster to go ef himself.

Don’t know where I found this-
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Cruz winning is the absolute best Repub outcome for us Dems.
If he can win the Repub nomination, our nominee will win 40+ states in November and probably control both houses of Congress. The Tea Party, the evangelicals and the hard cord conservatives will see their dream candidate go down in flames and it will be spectacular.
