A public high school has been accused of radical Islamic indoctrination by forcing children to profess the Muslim statement of faith, ordering them to memorize the Five Pillars of Islam and teaching that the faith of a Muslim is stronger than the average Christian, according to a federal lawsuit filed Wednesday.
Thomas More Law Center filed the lawsuit on behalf of John and Melissa Wood. They accuse La Plata High School in Maryland of subjecting their teenage daughter to Islamic indoctrination and propaganda. And when Mr. Wood complained – the school banned him from campus.
Defendants forced Wood’s daughter to disparage her Christian faith by reciting the Shahada, and acknowledging Mohammed as her spiritual leader,†Thomas More president Richard Thompson said.
The Shahada is the Islamic Creed, “There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.â€
The Thomas More Law Center said that for non-Muslims, reciting the statement is sufficient to convert one to Islam.
“The course also taught false statements such as Allah is the same God worshipped by Christians and Islam is a ‘religion of peace,’†Thompson said.
Good grief. It sounds as if somebody turned La Plata High School into a taxpayer-funded Madrassa.
A spokesperson for Charles County Public Schools told me they have not seen the lawsuit and declined to comment.
Also named as defendants were the Charles County Board of Education, principal Evelyn Arnold and vice-principal Shannon Morris.
The lawsuit, filed in federal court, alleges that students spent only one day studying Christianity and two weeks studying Islam.
“During its brief instruction on Christianity, Defendants failed to cover any portion of the Bible or other non-Islamic religious texts, such as the Ten Commandments,†the lawsuit states. “Instead, the class included disparaging remarks about Christianity and the Pope.â€

I have said this for probably five years now. I would like to see our education system shut down completely for a year.
I’d like the whole curriculum studied and a U. S., and sound teach curriculum reinstated.
I would like to see local municipalities to sell their local schools to corporations. Those corporations would hire back only non union.
If a school were to be attacked by a union seeking to unionize, I’d allow it.
Once the union vote as held, if it as in the affirmative, the corporation should simply shut the school.
Another corporation could some in and hire new teachers.
The school would be back up and running in a couple of weeks with new teachers or ones that would promise to work non-union.
I would never allow unions in the schools again.
If state legislation could be come up with then that would be best.
As for the NLRB, I’d look real hard to closing it down.

Catholic. I went to Catholic schools all my life.
I've served as a special education advocate for over 25 years and I'll tell you this does not happen "on every school district website." Most of the time, gaining access to the actual classroom curriculum is like pulling teeth. And, in the case of this lawsuit, the district was using TWO DIFFERENT TEXTBOOKS. Students were forbidden to take home the one containing the islam indoctrination.
If they did what its reported they are scum.

Not difficult. I found an attorney in my neighborhood. When my mother passed she had 14 accounts to close. I closed all but two. There were two bankers in New York who gave me ALL KINDS OF TROUBLE. They simply would not hand over the funds. I tried for months.
Finally, I found the attorney in my neighborhood and explained my problem.
Aboud six weeks later I got the funds from both of those ahole bankers in New York.
About a month later I asked my attorney if those two NASTY and UNHELPFUL bankers (women) gave him as bad a time as they did me. He looked down for a moment and simply said: Yes.
I still see him when necessary and send him a Christmas card every year.
So act like it.
