I’m still trying to figure out why this would scare anyone.
Will someone please explain that to me?

You might want to give some examples of his lies. That would be good. Examples that can be proven, not just accusations.

Lee Atwater would never have done anything this foolish. He might have had it sent out with another campaign’s name on it, but he wouldn’t have put his candidate’s name on a mailing like this. Dirty tricks, yes. Bumbling ineptitude, no.

I'm still trying to figure out why this would scare anyone. Will someone please explain that to me? First, the outside of the envelop says in huge red block letters "Voter Violation." That is just to get your attention.
Then there is a list inside that has your voting statistics compared to your neighbors with a grade of "A through F" and the percentage of times you have voted. It only takes a short second for you to realize your neighbors have been told how often you have voted with a big fat "F" next to your name.
The implication is you are supposed to go to your neighbor's house and excoriate him or her for not voting or, your neighbor is supposed to excoriate you.
List time I heard, voting is a private matter, actually the first time I heard, it was a private matter. If I got this from a candidate I would crawl over broken glass to vote against that fool.

People who donât vote ought to exposed and prodded to fulfill their duty as a citizen.
With friends like you Cruz needs no enemies. Orwell, is that you?

Oh I understood it, I just didn’t like it!

Serial stupidity. Not withdrawing from the Fox Ambush, followed by this! There is another thing.
Cruz put most of his eggs in the Iowa basket, a basket which relies heavily on ethanol.
THEN he comes out, strongly, AGAINST the very thing that's important to Iowa.
I've said for months that Cruz lacks wisdom, and, fortunately in this case, it is going to play a big part in keeping him distant from the nuclear codes.

I was pretty suspicious, too. But Cruz’s campaign confirmed that they did it.

Apparently this was sent out by someone in the Cruz campaign. This will not help Cruz, it will hurt him, especially at a caucus, where the word can spread to people who would not otherwise be aware of this mailing. This is an unforced error, a self-inflicted dirty trick. Rubio will benefit. Cruz could drop from first to third. I hope Cruz fires the numbskull who thought this was a good idea.
One thing is certain, though. Even if Cruz, my favored candidate, is damaged and becomes a non-factor by the time of the Missouri primary on March 15, there is one candidate I definitely will not be voting for, and that is Donald Trump. Trump is a total embarrassment. I would vote for one of the other guys--i.e., the next-best overall social and constitutional conservative--before I would ever vote for Trump.

Like Bernie, Hitlery or Slow Joe? Last I checked, they're not running for the Republican nomination.

Mr. Trump isn't using this information to shame people into voting. And don't delude yourself, that is exactly how this tactic is always employed, and usually by the left.
People who don't vote ought to exposed and prodded to fulfill their duty as a citizen.
Why, thank you so very much Comrade! What other orders do you have for us commoners?

Nothing is more disgusting than Trump lying about his past political positions.
What I see as more disgusting, in this thread alone, are your asinine posts.
The Butthurt over this "shame mailer" is epic for many people who are rabidly pro-Cruz.
The entertainment value alone is priceless, IMO.
