Grow Up! How can anyone be for this spoiled brat?
The American Spectator ^ | January 30, 2016 | Thomas Sowell

Posted on 01/30/2016 12:54:47 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

Of all the many things said about Donald Trump, what was said by Roger Ailes, head of the Fox News Channel, said it all in just two words: "Grow up!"

It is amazing how many people have been oblivious to this middle-aged man's spoiled brat behavior, his childish boastfulness about things he says he is going to do, and his petulant response to every criticism with ad hominem replies.

He has boasted that his followers would stick by him even if he committed murder. But is that something to boast about? Is it not an insult to his followers, if it is true? Moreover, his cockiness is misplaced, because he still does not have a majority among Republican voters, while you need a majority of all the voters to win any state in the general election.

Trump has a showman's talent for telling people what they want to hear. But you can listen in vain for a coherent argument from him, based on facts and logic, much less an understanding of the inherent limitations of the office of president.

More than two centuries ago, Edmund Burke said: "Constitute government how you please, infinitely the greater part of it must depend upon the exercise of the powers which are left at large to the prudence and uprightness of ministers of state."

In other words, the personal character of the people to whom you entrust the powers of government matters even more than what kinds of government institutions there are. There have been some good kings and some bad presidents, as well as vice versa.

Trump continued negotiations regarding debate participation up until the last minute. He said he would return to the debate if Fox donated $5 million. He tried to coerce a donation. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/jan/28/donald-trump-declares-victory-over-fox-news-debate/

He tried the same thing with the CNN debate: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-says-hell-debate-on-cnn-if-it-donates-5m/

Contrast that with the Cruz supporters, who OFFERED a donation in exchange for a one-on-one debate.

Big difference.

“Wow he sure spends a lot of time on twitter insulting people.”
-

As I posted several times,I despise his incessant, juvenile Tweeting.

Vanity Fair actually has a monthly column posting some of the more ridiculous Trump Tweets.

The writer states....”It is amazing how many people have been oblivious to this middle-aged man’s spoiled brat behavior, his childish boastfulness about things he says he is going to do, and his petulant response to every criticism with ad hominem replies.”.......

Oh they aren’t oblivious to this at all....He represents what they can never be or have...wealth, position, power and woman .....he appeals to every male out there....and female for the ultimate macho-male...many have already written of this.

If you note the vocabulary they use for supporting him...He’s got gonads...he’s flinging daggers....he doesn’t care what anyone thinks.....he’s destroying this and that.....etc.etc.etc. Could be a movie about the gangster mobs who though violent were “respected”.

So they know exactly what Trump is about....but are mistaken if they think the gravy is going to flow to them if he wins.......

Give em a break CW. Why on earth would the TrumPets read or listen to anything other than the Pied Piper’s thrilling tune?

The attraction and hold Trump has over his lemmings is very simple, he does and says things that many wish they could say and do, lie, spit and bully, just as Trump does and that Trump always seems to get away with because of his wealth.

Doesn’t matter a hoot in a hail storm that Trump’s history and words are non-conservative, backing of the worst of the worst liberals and now give em sound bytes that no one can hold him to later.

“Who running has a better executive record than Trump?”

No one.

And who was the last great POTUS that was a Senator?

Dr. Sowell is right on the mark IMO. Precisely my argument against Trump. His record, and his attitude do not align to make me a supporter during this campaign period, however IF the man gets the nod over Cruz I/we will vote for him over any damned Democrat.

Thanks for the Sowell Ping!

If Republicans had their act together, such huge numbers wouldn’t be looking at someone like Trump (like him or not) to lead us out of our troubles.

Personally, I think the Republicans are just about finished as a serious party at the national level. We’ve given them back both houses and the best they can do is grandstand about the excesses of Democrats while they enable them. And because so many turn to Trump or Cruz to stop the nonsense, the elites of the party somehow think the base is the problem.

He has boasted that his followers would stick by him even if he committed murder. But is that something to boast about?

That was a joke Sowell. Besides Hillary's followers know about her emils, they know about the Benghazi lies, they know about the rapes and abuse of women... AND THEY REALLY DO STICK BY HER.

We would never be that vile.

Why don't YOU Sowell - - and the press - - express a little outrage over HILLARY'S followers? They're DOING what Trump was joking about.

Get the video - it WAS a joke. That said, I am so sick of elites getting elected by the people then ONLY serving the interest of fellow elites. AND I'm not alone in my disgust over that...

Bias by press elites and political elites working hand and glove with each other? Want proof? If the FBI was investigating Trump for espionage do you think Rubio could say in a debate setting that he was sick of talking about it - - AND THE PRESS WOULD OBEY?

The Trump Foundation is not a Veteran’s Organization... so donations are not being made directly to Veterans, period.

It’s a lie.

Seems like the TrumPet’s ‘No longer useful’ list grows more just as sure as the sun rises.

Sowell has changed? All the other previously looked up to by conservatives have changed? No! Those that caught trump fever changed when they decided that ‘Conservative’ no longer fit in with their new found billion dollar ‘near anarchy’ trinket.

Are you aware that YouTube views are three to one Trump’s event vs the debate?

FoxNews first debate 24 million,

This one, 12 million.

LOL

Go to the website that's accepting donations. It's very specifically for the Veterans.

Why would anyone possible think it's a lie? Seriously. Would Trump or any smart businessman risk their reputation on something that is so easy to verify? The total collected for this endeavor is listed, right there on the donation page.

With all due respect, the Trump folks generally address Ted’s actions, policies, and things they observe germane to his election bid.

I have yet to see them focus on a Cruz supporter with extreme vulgarity. Cruz folks... well, I wish I could say that.

You focus on the anti-Christian nature of Trump, and mis the anti-Christian behavior of Ted’s supporters.

It may surprise you, but I trust Trump more than Cruz.
