Unbelievable – Ted Cruz Campaign Sends Out Personal “Shaming Letters” To Iowa Voters…
conservativetreehouse ^ | 1/30/2016 | sundance

Posted on 01/29/2016 10:28:45 PM PST by 20yearsofinternet

The personalized letters target individual Iowa voters and identifies them as having failed to vote in prior elections. They are admonished and then encouraged to vote this year. In addition the letters identify the neighbors of the voter, and provides their voting history.

The text reads:

"You are receiving this election notice because of low expected voter turnout in your area. Your individual voting history as well as your neighbors' are public record. Their scores are published below, and many of them will see your score as well. CAUCUS ON MONDAY TO IMPROVE YOUR SCORE and please encourage your neighbors to caucus as well. A follow-up notice may be issued following Monday's caucuses".

In an effort to shame the recipient, the notice also informs the targeted voter their neighbors have also been notified of the recipients poor voting record.

You obviously haven’t read the thread, as there have been numerous confirmations. You do know Ted lost seven top staffers yesterday, don’t you?

I can’t see how this will help Sen. Cruz. I like the guy but I would be pissed off if I received one of these in the mail (which I won’t, because I do not live in Iowa).

I would not like it either but I would not change my vote over it. That seems a very shallow determiner of who to vote for - but, people decide based on way less than that.

You know, in retrospect, this campaign has never been about ideas. Trump supporters have done much more to try to shame me into giving up my candidate than the Cruz campaign did to these folks. Now that I have decided I will not vote for Cruz as one that represents my views, my values are being personally attacked by a Trump supporter.

That said, Cruz can take a hike. His campaign did something that is anathema to a freedom-loving and free-thinking people. I will not vote for him.

What a strange election cycle. I disagree with those who say this year has been politics as usual.

These are common mailings. Received a few times in Florida by mail and email in the past.

I get stuff like this from the Republican National Committee. They have probably researched these as a marketing tool already and found out that conservatives hate them. So we shouldn't count them out as the advisors or origin of this offensive mailing.

This kind of stuff is like phone scams to the elderly. Very poor taste and questionably ethical.

What I am talking about is sticking with the Consisution.

Defending the constitution.

Being a constitutional conservative.

Trump DOES none of these this, and his history stands in opposition of the constitution. Even last year he was spouting off liberal ideal which continue to eat away at the constitution.

The presidency is not a kingship. It is not a do as I say position. With someone as full of themselves and self centered as Donald Trump is, the chances of him defending the constitution when we get down to brass tacks is small. The chances of him appointing solid constitutional conservatives to the Supreme Court are small.

If you are NOT a conservative, a believer in its authority over this nation, second only to God himself, what the hell are you doing on this site for?

The Consisution is the ONLY thing that matters, in my opinion, based on what Trump has proven in the past, he is dangerous and will do nothing but tear it down further than it already has been.

Funny how you guys look at Ted Cruz with a fine tooth comb for all of his faults, ignoring ALL of his credits and positives (which are plentiful and many), but when it comes to Trump, you do the exact opposite, ignoring ALL of his faults (which are plentiful and many) and focusing on his few positives. The delusion and complete out of touch way people fawn over this man is SO reminiscent of 2008 and Obama’s run for the WH.

The rest of this comment is right on too.
