It’s more like an insurgency. The conservative right is being attacked by big government progressives like Trump, Jeb, Christie...

Republicans control Congress. They're not exactly out of power.

Unfortunately, the worst of them are REMFs, the rest are castrati.

Actually, until the President and Congress do something about the unelected bureaucracy, liberals will control the government no matter whom is elected.

You are correct

I’ve thought on that. Gov types can’t be fired, but they can be transferred.

Every where there are facilities, there should be new offices. Attu, Antarctica, Pt Barrow, Oman, Mumbai, Lagos, Tripoli, etc

Here’s one of my favorite quotes, it’s from Frank Herbert:

“Power attracts the corruptible. Absolute power attracts the absolutely corruptible. This is the danger of entrenched bureaucracy to its subject population. Even the spoils systems are preferable because levels of tolerance are lower and the corrupt can be thrown out periodically. Entrenched bureaucracy seldom can be touched short of violence. Beware when Civil Service and Military join hands.”
