She quit her job over an inevitably losing endeavor.

Timing is everything. Bloomberg has come out to say he is *not* running for president, during a TV interview. He repeated himself several times, because he wanted to be very clear about it.

So this guy likely tossed his job for nothing. That is, if that was the *real* reason he resigned.
