That or the campaign thinks it’s time for a Hail Mary.

I was disappointed with the Gideon series. Ok but not great. The Pendergast novels are so unique and Pendergast is the most unique detective since Sherlock Holmes. You have to suspend reality to really enjoy them, but isn’t that why we take the time to read them?

Because Trump is a petulent, loathsome, hateful man. He has no substance, he constantly lies, he personally attacks anyone who disagrees with him, he has no moral fiber, no scrouples and is a total megloamaniac. We have already been through all of that with 0bama.

Trump can not be trusted.

“Megyn Kelly was a “great” moderator”

She was also a teenager, once. Things change.

I agree. I love the Pendergast novels - I will willingly suspend reality :) He is always at least two steps ahead of me and I love that.

Politico, yeah I know, has collected the best of Trump quotes. 199 of them:

the word "think" does not fit in that sentence. No thinking person could possibly believe that anyone could get Nancy Pelosi to work towards a conservative agenda. The word shoul be HOPE or DREAM. It ain't gonna happen no matter how many times Trump kisses her @$$. Trump's conservatism is pragmatic. Pelosi's leftism is dogmatic. If anyone is going to give in, it will be Trump.

Well I think we'll have to agree to disagree. Judging by his history I think Donald Trump would have a real problem thinking that anyone ever got the better of him in any deal. I think he would treat Nancy Pelosi like Megyn Kelly if she tried to screw him. Expose her to the public and call her what she is. Drive down her favorables and make her wish that she was home making cookies. None of this "my honorable opponent" business unless she see's things his way.

I am angry because I love the color orange, and seeing Trumps orange face makes me feel better about the world. Now I will be deprived of it

So you're happy he's not going to be in the debate? You think it's a negative for him to stay out of the debate?

The “problem” in the Senate meaning when he killed the Gang of 8 bill and filibustered Obamacare, which led to a huge popular uprising in the next election expanding GOP majorities? Cruz earned a huge Republican majority in Congress and is the right guy to finally lead them in the right direction.

A populist means you change your positions to fit what the polls say about your electorate. We don’t need or want that. We need bedrock principles and no more compromising with Democrats.

Will it give Cankles (sp?) precedent to skip debates in the general?

Interesting you raised that issue.

There were only 3 Democratic debates and this will be number 6 for the Republicans with many more on the schedule. The Democratic debates were always scheduled at times of major sporting events and things like that. The Republican "debates" are always scheduled prime time with no other competition.

Why is that? I think the debates are over (if you consider these to be debates). Why have so many candidates that are single digit or less on the stage? It is obvious to me this is the game to create a narrative for the election.

Personally, I don't think it is working this time. The old methods of the power elites will not work with a black swan event.

Donald Trump is a political black swan event. We will all benefit by a liberation from the elitist occupation.

yeah, for all the good that did. He didn't lead the Senate to the same conclusions. He didn't lead the house to the same conclusions. He led die hard conservatives in both chambers which is great. But he failed to turn anyone else to the conservative viewpoint and in fact made them dig in their heels even more.

I don't normally go to politico. I hate having to clear my cookies. But I'm sure those quotes will come back to bite Trump in the butt if he gets the nomination. Trump may be courting the independents, but for the most part he is throwing the dogmatic conservatives to the dogs and seeking to court the same independent voters that push guys like McCain and Graham over the top. I don't think he is going to get too many of the people who voted for Obama twice and if he loses the conservatives by insulting them like he has been doing, he's not going to get as many votes as Romney.

A lot of us held our noses and voted for Romney, but Romney didn't insult all the other candidates on Twitter and ridicule the people who support them.

This kind of low brow politics may get a lot of headlines, but in the end, it is not going to produce a lot of votes.

Basically the people Fox lined up to moderate would be equivalent to having a democrat debate moderated by Rush, Alex Jones, Glenn Beck and Ann Coulter.

You have to admit if that ever happened, that would be pay per view. I'd camp out in line days before for the tickets.

I actually just finished reading all of the quotes.

It is worth reading. All they did was pull out his own words and they did not add any kind of editorial.

He reminds me a lot of Hitlary if she had any business sense.

I'd post it here but those annoying squiggly things would make it completely unreadable.

Read it on Politico. Do it for your country.

We got 8 years of Obama and have nearly lost the country. Why? Because people voted with their emotions not their reason. The Trumpites are no different. He is using emotion; preying on what people are feeling not what their thinking.

Trump will say or do anything to get what he wants and he is using (very well) the media and the groundswell of discontent. He is not psychologically balanced, does not have the thoughtfulness, poise, grace, knowledge or gravitas to be president, yet the true believers continue to support him despite all evidence to the contrary.

You Cruz supporters please speak up and help me out here.
