Even More Choose Ted Cruz
Townhall ^ | January 27, 2016 | Arthur Schaper

It's good to be in great conservative company.

Steve King, Steve Deace, and Rick Perry, Dana Rohrabacher, Tom McClintock: what do they all have in common?

They understand the threats--immanent and existential--posed by illegal immigration.

They vote against Big Government spending sprees, but support a common defense and promote the general welfare. Indeed, they regard the United States Constitution as a charter of clear and convincing mandates, not a bunch of ephemeral suggestions which the President can push aside with a phone and pen.

What else do they all have in common?

They choose Ted Cruz to be the Republican nominee and the next President of the United States.....

Pardon me, but I have a personal code of honor: never enter a battle of wits with an unarmed (and uninformed) man.

"Cruz--the Insider's Insider candidate who'll maintain the status quo and the gravy train for donors, lobbyists, Beltway media and all members of the oligarchy called the Washington Political Class."

That is the most idiotic statement of the last year. Cruz is obviously the number one enemy of the Washington Cartel- you know, the ones that Trump will "deal" with.

He’s referring to this:

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/24/us/politics/at-new-york-reception-ted-cruz-is-said-to-strike-different-tone-toward-gays.html?_r=0

If you read the whole article, you’ll find that there was a scandal where a young man was found dead from a drug OD in one of their apartment’s bathrooms.

I don’t remember if it’s this article, but apparently, one of the men had picked the kid up at a bar for sex and the kid overdosed while at his residence.

And these guys just LUV ‘em some conservative Ted for some reason.

And that picture of the packed arena for Trump was taken in Cruz’s home state.

“But will you vote for Trump if he’s the party’s nominee?”

What is your motivation?

See there’s my line. If the nation is doomed to go down the drain, I’d rather it happen with a Democrat at the helm.

And in return, Ted just loves those gays, er, guys, no matter their New York Values, and no matter the dead young gay lover who was in the house just days before Ted begged for money.

I, like most other Trump supporters, am attracted to his policies and his ability to win a general election, not him personally. His tax policy will add $10,000 to my household income every year it is in effect. That’s why I support Trump. that and his immigration/border policy. I’m also comfortable with him on the second amendment. If I wasn’t, I wouldn’t support him.

That's laughable as Trump is in all actuality buying the presidency.
It sure frees up a lot of good Ole boy money to spread all over the swamp.

Trump is a mole or he is running out of moves. I can’t figure which. I don’t think he will attend any more debates because he knows he’ll get owned when it’s down to 3 or 4, including Cuz, Rubio and one governor. Cruz winning IA is the first domino in Trump’s w/d before he has to spend “real” bucks.

I still think Trump will bow out before he plunks down lots of cash. Why throw money down the drain if he can’t win out-right? Think about it, he could spend millions just to make it to the convention and loose on the second ballot. Why do that when he can storm off and spend the next 6-9 months yammering about how he was the only one who could have saved America but “they” robbed him of his chance.

Yup.

And *this* does really bother me about Cruz.

If it were Trump in those photos, I’d be fine. He lives with and works with the NY set and has for decades. He strives to get along with everyone to clear the way for his personal goals. He’s said as much a hundred times.

But Ted is trying to say that he’s the super conservative, religious, righteous man who’s going to save our nation with the power of RIGHT. He’s promising to never bend on conservative principles and that he’ll happily alienate everyone in the process, if that’s what it’ll take.

This story proves that he bends, too.

Trump is HONEST with us about it.

Cruz is NOT.

My husband is a soldier and I’ve been the wife of that soldier for 25 years.

They’re rough. They tell off-color jokes. They use F*** like a comma. They’re hilariously sexist. But they have a strong moral code that they’re married to by blood.

You know exactly where you stand with them and you know that they’re deeply moral because they have no shame - therefore, no reason to lie. They’ll flat-out tell you their limitations.

I like that kind of man. I ‘get’ them.

I’m getting closer and closer to the ‘I’ll hold my nose for Ted if it comes to that’ attitude.

I despise people who’re just as human as the rest of us, but who pretend to be so much better.

I don't think Ted can beat Hillary. Or Biden.

Trump can.

What is funny to me is that the very same polls that show Trump leading in the primary also show him losing to Hillary in the general. His supporters like to quote the primary poll, but ignore the general. That seems more than a little disingenuous to me.

Something about Cruz's eyelashes keep on giving mild readings on my gaydar.

And someone else (I think on Instapundit) pointed out that Cruz's vocal mannerisms are similar to Joel Ostend's...

On one hand, you have cruz the chameleon.

On the other, you have brutally honest Trump who is as rough yet transparent as the soldiers and husband you praise.

No contest: Vote Trump.

As for Cruz if he were the nominee in the general, I could vote for him, but it would be a terribly uninspired vote.
