The Republicans Who Fought Chris McDaniel in Mississippi, Tried to Use Mike Huckabee Against Ted Cruz
This is a fascinating article that shows just how much contempt for Ted Cruz the Republican Establishment has. They absolutely hate the guy.
In fact, Henry Barbour, who helped scuttle conservatives in Mississippi in the race between Chris McDaniel and Thad Cochran, tried to raise money for a Mike Huckabee supporting super PAC for the sole purpose of attacking Ted Cruz.
Mr. Barbour was so exasperated by the intra-establishment combat that this month he sought to raise money for the super PAC supporting Mike Huckabee that would have been spent to attack Mr. Cruz in Iowa. But Mr. Barbour found few donors willing to intervene in such a volatile race.
Think about that for a minute. Republican Establishment fat cats poured their time, talent, and treasure into stopping conservatives from taking Mississippi's Senate seat because they have a puppet in the seat they've been using for quite some time.
These very same people are now intent on stopping Ted Cruz. It is more and more obvious that it has nothing to do with Cruz's electability or lack thereof and everything to do with their inability to profit from Washington if Cruz gets elected

Haley, Henry, and all the Barbours can rot. I am so sick of these GOPe POS.
Haley is now cashing in with BGR Group lobbying firm in Washington DC.
He was bad for conservatives. He’s bad for the nation.
He and the rest of the Barbours are dirtbags. It’s all about money and power.

Who told you that? Cruz was advocating the wall in 2012 while running for the senate. I know DT said Cruz was copying him, but DT and the truth rarely intersect.

And this is a surprise how? They used Hucksterbee to get Mitt the nomination the last time. The only reason he was in the race this time was to again try and dilute the vote to ensure Jeb as the GOP nominee.

From the "fascinating article" link:
By JONATHAN MARTIN and ALEXANDER BURNS
January 26, 2016
DES MOINES - Republican leaders are growing alarmed by the ferocious ways the party's mainstream candidates for president are attacking one another, and they fear that time is running out for any of them to emerge as a credible alternative to Donald J. Trump or Senator Ted Cruz of Texas.
Leaders of the Republican establishment, made up of elected officials, lobbyists and donors, are also sending a message to the mainstream candidates, such as former Gov. Jeb Bush of Florida, that they should withdraw from the race if they do not show strength soon.
The members of the party establishment are growing impatient as they watch Mr. Trump and Mr. Cruz dominate the field heading into the Iowa caucuses on Monday and the New Hampshire primary eight days later.
Party leaders had hoped that one of their preferred candidates, such as Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, would be rising above the others by now and becoming a contender to rally around.

You got that right!
I was there on the ground with McDaniel and crew when it went down.
Chris McDaniel is a class 1A conservative.
Which is a designation that the eGOP hates.

Mississippi is a Conservative state that’s been unable to send a Conservative to Washington. I believe all 3 of our Republican Congressmen and our Senators are controlled by the BGR lobbying firm which is the second largest and it’s principal owner is Haley Barbour. Mississippi Republican precinct caucus and county conventions are April 23rd at the precinct level delegates to the county convention are elected and at the county convention the county executive committee, county chairman, and delegates to the state convention, May 13th, will be elected. A delegate to the state convention is really there to do nothing more than to confirm delegates to the national convention, the state executive committee etc. A delegates votes for those who are already selected and to approve resolutions that are already written. They don’t entertain nominations or resolutions from the floor delegates. At the county level with it is possible with community effort starting that morning to elect those on the executive committee who will make the decisions. This would take a county by county effort. Many counties have a County Conservative Coalition, for an example if Lauderdale county had one it would be the LCCC. The effort in each county would need to be coordinated and best also with other counties. We are a Conservative state and most of us believe a lot of our problems in DC are due to the GOP-e but much of that starts here in Mississippi.

A lot of young conservatives wanted Haley Barbour to unseat Senator Stennis in their 1982 match, didn’t happen of course. Trent Lott got the seat six years later.
