Always someone else’s fault. ALWAYS. In a Trump Administration, prepare for this pattern to repeat itself on a weekly basis, at least. “Pour encourager les autres.”

When your candidate embarrasses himself, and you, you attack the messenger.

Today’s line, “CW is a paid GOP operative.”

This is the 2nd thread (that I know of) today where this has been put forth.

It’s a lie.

Two or second. The important issue of the day. Really?
It speaks to Trump's character. He can't brush it off, and he always, always someone else to blame for his mistakes.

RE:”Not only is he a complete phony, he blames his own failing on someone else.”

Its so bad it almost needs no comment:

Trump: “Tony Perkins wrote that out for me - he actually wrote out the 2, he wrote out the number 2 Corinthians, I took exactly what Tony said, and I said, 'Well, Tony has to know better than anybody'".

?????

Serves Perkins right for trying to help Trump.

"An observation to add to your picture of the man."

That exactly sums it up. To me the telling thing about Trump was not that incorrectly referenced Second Corinthians, it was that he blamed on someone else when it was brought up. A simple "I made a mistake" would have been what I would expect from someone who might make a great president some day.

before I read at my grandmothers funeral mass, my aunt went over a couple of times with me, ‘”you read it, ‘th first letter of St Paul to the Ephesians’’ because in the regular book (the lector) that’s how it’s spelled out

A particular priest said it best in his sermon the day Reagan died, and I used this example last week when a friend tried to trip me in not wanting Cruz over trump based on cruz’s supposed stronger Christianity.

He said Reagan was raised by a lapsed Catholic and was divorced and remarried ( don’t know re annulment) but Reagan made it so that I could practice my Catholicism

We have separation of church and state. We don’t need an evangelical Christian in the White House

And tony Perkins could have done what my aunt did for me. But he didn’t

I find Trump’s explanation much more troubling.

While throwing Perkins under the bus, Trump, in effect, admitted that the Biblical concept was a foreign one to him and that he was reading some else’s words from his “teleprompter” to fool the Evangelicals.

There is perfect example of New York values, pull one over on the “rubes” to get what he wants, their vote.

I could overlook the “2 Corinthians”, but Trump sounded awkward citing the verse.

The man is creepy.

Too many of us are focusing on irrelevant minutiae. I don't care if if he is creepy, or smelly or a secret worshiper of the Great Oak. I want a man who will make correct decisions as president. I want a man who will undo as many of BHO's disastrous policies as possible. That is all that concerns me. If Trump does this, then he will be a good choice.

From Trump’s behavior (and history) you should have zero confidence that he will do anything he “says.”

How many have NEVER made a slip of the tongue when making a statement or giving a speech? Please stand up a be counted.
We all know Trump is not a politician and indeed not an accomplished speech maker. Get over it, it’s his message that needs to be heard.

Can he not take responsibility for anything?

Of course, if Trump were 1/10th the Biblical expert he pretends to be (while pandering to the Liberty U captive audience required to attend) he would not have needed Tony Perkins’ help.

When you get paid by the number of threads, it's a big deal.

Cincinatus' Wife was the most diligent Scott Walker poster, and took heaps of abuse for staking out a position and sticking with it. I doubt Gov. Walker paid her anything for it. I am one of the thousands working for Cruz, I don't get paid for my posts, either. Heck, the more I interact with Cruz, the more money they ask for. Same with Rand Paul, Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum or anybody else who doesn't have a personal fortune, and some (like John Ellis Bush and John Kerry) who do.

Cincinatus' Wife and posters like her are what make Free Republic great. She loves our country, takes a stand, and promotes it, and NEVER with vitriol or personal attacks.

Personally, I do not mind multiple posting of similar (but not identical) media stories. These give us an idea of whwere the hive is hovering, and we can look for repeated terms and diferent takes onteh same news. As always, if an article or opinion doesn't appeal to you, FR has many, many more. One stop shopping for a variety of conservative opinions and outrages, made possible by posters like Cincinatus' Wife.

When this guy claims to love the Bible and says that it’s an even more fabulous book than “The Art of the Deal,” when he tries to pander to a crowd by waving it around or reading a quote from it, even though, when asked, he can’t name a favorite verse from the Bible, and he doesn’t even know how to say the name of a book from the Bible, and it is obvious he is clueless and unfamiliar with the Bible’s contents—and now, instead of admitting he doesn’t know much about the Bible at all, he blames his blunder on someone else—it does not speak well of the man.

LOL...Much ado about nothing.

<><><><

Tell that to Trump. He’s the one shifting the blame to Tony Perkins for his own (Trump’s) ignorance of the Bible verse he intended to pander with.

I took exactly what Tony said, and I said, Well, Tony has to know better than anybody.

Today we add Tony Perkins to the list of people who must be wrong for Donald Trump to be right.

The episode illustrates the pettiness of the man, the smallness of the man. Trump is ignorant of the Bible yet pretends otherwise to a gathering of evangelicals and when his own gaffe exposes him as a hypocrite, he blames his supporter.

When Donald Trump is in the White House, who will stop the buck, for sure it won't be The Donald.

Who is paying her, and how much is she getting paid?
