and th problem with living for hundreds of years, is your brain cells dont cooperate.
you can’t replace them with stem cells like other parts because the essential parts that make you, you, would be replaced with new cells, and old memories gone.

They are starting to. In its infanny though. Short term will be hardware b/c it is in later development stages. But it has critical drawvacks that cannot be overcome in the real world.

i have an eight year old head injury. i get by. physical symptoms much worse than cognitive
wake up with severe internal tremors and muscles feel like they’re pulling apart.
get chills alot, red face, burning through entire body like chemical fire.
they have NO IDEA WHATSOEVER what is going on, and how to help it,
and after initial MRI, brain looks fine for 7 years now.
so they CANT SEE IT. CANT HELP IT
but they’re gonna put a guy’s head on another guy’s body!!!

Sorry i thought i was responding to antoher thread about darpa implants, not head transplants.
THAT sounds more fascinating and MUCH more realistic,
and could help our wounded soldiers MUCH more than this stupid head transplant nonsense.
doctor should be arrested before he can even try.
how about being able to treat ANY neurological injury decently before doing such nonsense.
