There you go, ladyjane, confuse the issue with objectivity and facts.

What Trump said is pretty close to a perfect answer.

Whatever.

So long as he keeps that as his opinion.

Frankly, the Oscars quit being meaningful sometime in the last 25 years when it became PURELY a platform for extreme leftists. Yeah, they’ve been lefties for years, but lately it seems (according to reports, I quit watching decades ago!) the whole thing has been nothing but the elite 1% bad mouthing middle America.

I still remember John Wayne getting a standing ovation when he was dying and other movie greats who fought for the nation in wars and who performed for our troops being honored.

Now it is women with foul mouths and men who think they’re divas being applauded. ugh. And don’t even bother showing up if you’re a Bible believing Christ follower.

Yes,Straight out of Compton is a better picture that The Revenant a and the generic Negro playing a thug was better than DiCaprio’s performance. What a bunch of fools!

Darnit, we need affirmative action in the Oscars.

The acting profession is like professional sports, performance is prime and participation trophy’s are for T-ball.

Would Trump keep put an equal opportunity hire in charge of Trump Tower?

Part of the problem IMHO is that Hollywood, despite pretending to be so Liberal, always seems to cast black actors in stereotypical roles (rappers, street thugs, pro athletes, and oppressed victims in the pre-Civil Rights South).

You rarely see anything more challenging and substantial for them in a dramatic role. For example, Macbeth, with an all-Black cast.

It’s a shame because there are a lot of Black actors out there with tremendous stage presence.

I support Trump, but I don’t agree with him on everything. This is one of the things I don’t agree with. Should there be an Oscar for the Best Black Actor, or a quota system whereas at least 13 percent of all awards are required to be given to blacks?

So they want awards because of their skin color not talents

A classy thing for Trump to say. Has nothing to do with affirmative action. I found some of the nominations very questionable esp. the ones for Mad Max which I found a nasty, unpleasant film all around with poor writing and unlikable characters and unfulfilling plot, just left a bad taste in my mouth, and I liked the original with Mel Gibson. The Academy could have nominated Will Smith for the Concussion film about the tragedy of former Steele Mike Webster.

Remember Trump actually did once appear in an episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air with Will Smith. It is on YouTube.

The more Trump talks lately the less I like him. He’s close to dropping behind Rubio on my list.

That and it drives a wedge between Hollywood liberals and the black community.

IMO this isn’t about pandering at all but rather a move to discourage the blacks from voting Democrat like they usually do. Who cares about attracting their votes, just subtract their votes from Hillary/Bernie in the fall and it’s a win.

Rather brilliant in my opinion.
