Graph Shows A Surprising Number Of Republicans Have Changed Their Tune On Trump

The standard political rules don't apply to Donald Trump.

We have seen him get through controversy after controversy that would have instantly ended the campaign of a traditional candidate and not only has he remained virtually unscathed but his poll numbers have actually increased.

Trump has struck a nerve in this country and capitalized on what is perhaps the most perfect window for him to run in thanks to the fact that people are more divided than ever and extremely frustrated with the establishment and status quo in both parties.

A recent poll from NBC and the Wall Street Journal puts into perspective just how convincing Trump's message has been.

From The Washington Post:

Donald Trump, as I tell anyone who asks, defies virtually every political rule I thought I knew. There's no better encapsulation of Trump's up-is-down-and-down-is-up effect on presidential politics than a new number from the just-released NBC/Wall Street Journal poll. The question asked is a simple one: Could you see yourself supporting [fill in the blank candidate] for the Republican nomination for president? When NBC/WSJ first asked GOP voters that question about Trump last March, fewer than one in four (23 percent) said they could see themselves voting for him.

Wow.

That's pretty remarkable when you consider everything that has happened over the last year.

The media has been bashing Trump left and right for everything he says. Celebrities have been freaking out calling him racist and threatening to leave the country if he wins. But yet, here he is with a significant amount of support that only continues to grow.

>>Piss on all who would assist in the election of Hillary Clinton.<<

What you don’t get is that you’re the ones who refuse to vet your candidate and insist upon supporting someone who’s taken more liberal positions than conservative ones until suddenly professing to be a conservative at the ripe old age of sixty-plus.

So, if a bunch of us refuse to follow your lead, maybe it’s you who are putting Hillary in office, by insisting upon a candidate that many conservatives won’t vote for because he’s simply not a conservative.

You could pick any of three to five other candidates and be joined by the rest of us. You’re the ones refusing to do so.

I guess we’ll see what happens if Trump doesn’t get beyond 30%. Maybe then it will be you guys who take your footballs and go home, and put Hillary in the White House.

While I’m certainly mistaken about many things, this not one of them.

I was merely answering a question, not attempting to enter a debate.

I still love Levin been listening since 2006, if Rush ever pulls his head out of his arse maybe he can promote the conservative in the race and not a NY liberal charlatan that was palling around with the Clintons, Schummer, Pelosi, Bloomberg and Reid until recently.

The conservative in the race? You mean the guy who dishonestly campaigned for Barack Obama’s trade agenda? That guy? Sorry, there is no ideal conservative in this race. Support Cruz if you wish but his Anti-American globalist leanings are no way “conservative”.

Personhood amendments ran into other troubles because of penalties they would require or invite over situations like unimplanted zygotes. The idea has been thought of, however do we want to raise federal cases over every miscarriage as well. Trying to allow for such cases would be difficult without leaving openings for purposed abortion, without facing the abortion issue directly.

Abortion is what needs to be stopped. Trying to sidle up on that from a different angle is to invite difficulties we never needed.

Because you asked and implied I am a liar...

Here you go...

The office of potus should be held to higher standards. 2 natural born parents, and everyone born in the USA. Hmm, I wonder what example I can point to to illustrate this point?

Every election is the lesser of two evils. Writing in Cruz is a vote for the greater evil...a Democrat. This is a bad choice.

Yes, this is one of the things you’re mistaken about. The standard, held to be originalist, interpretation of NBC is a person born in the USA to two “citizen” parents. No one arguing that the requirement was two NBC parents can provide a link. That is bc no link exists. It was a low down and nutty claim on Cruz’ part, done solely to drag Trump’s mother into the issue.

I have no idea what that means.

My position is very clear.

The supreme law of our land absolutely requires that equal protection be provided for the right to life of every person.

It’s not optional, and we must stop acting like it is.

Very, VERY deceptive of you. I read further in the thread, and the poster you cited did NOT claim that was the Constitutional requirement. He/she indicated it was not only a personal suggestion, but also that it was “just my original offer.”

I hate arguing with Cruz supporters. As with Cruz himself, it’s all misdirection and deliberate obfuscation.

He could clear that up if he released his Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA) but I don’t believe he has.
