The fracas between the Republican presidential front-runners escalated Sunday as Donald Trump went after Ted Cruz's likability, calling him a "nasty guy."
"Nobody likes him, nobody in Congress likes him, nobody likes him anywhere once they get to know him," Trump said in an interview airing on ABC's "This Week."
After weeks of circling each other, the gloves came off between Cruz and Trump in Thursday's debate, as Trump questioned Cruz's birthright citizenship and Cruz attacked Trump's "New York values."

I had hoped that Trump and Cruz would combine as one ticket. That seems less likely now.
I’ve always been willing to vote for either of them in the general election (and no other Republican) but I have preferred Trump. In part, because I think Trump is more electable. He has charisma. Many Independents like him. Some Democrats like him. Trump will attract a lot of votes from a lot of sources.
And Trump is right — Cruz has not made many friends. Rightly or wrongly, he has rubbed many people the wrong way. I see Cruz as less electable than Trump.
But if Cruz is the nominee, I would still vote for him.

Never make disparaging comments about your opponents mother. Cruz is nasty.
People don’t like him because he’s had a lifelong habit of putting his own personal desires ahead of everyone elses. All hat, no cattle.
“Nobody in Congress likes him” could probably be attributed to the fact Cruz doesn’t go along with the rest of them like 95 percent of the Republicans funding Obamacare, Planned Parenthood, Amnesty for illegal immigrants, the influx of “Migrants” from the Middle East and the list goes on.
When the Boehner-Ryan-McConnell crowd put through their massive spending programs called ‘budgets’ that drive the country deeper into debt (over 20 trillion dollars by 2017) Ted Cruz has stood up to oppose them.
So I don’t see anything wrong with that......
The problem is that the Trump-Cruz fight might lead to Jeb rising in the polls. I think its what the Republican Establishment wants right now, I don’t want the fighting going on right now.
I don’t quite trust Politico, but if those quotes are accurate, then I’m VERY disappointed in Trump. And I say that as a Trump supporter (as my previous posts will show).
Trump’s got the Patton thing working for him. Now he needs to moderate that with a little bit of Ike.
I graciously say that I would vote for Cruz.

Cruz and Cruz supporters are nasty people. You and your guy would do better if you would be a little more gracious. But it’s not in you.

Really Trump?
Trump was already sounding more and more like a 4th grader every day, now he’s moved to 4th grade little girl with his “nobody likes him” comment.
We all know this Trumpian tactic and it can flip on a dime if he sees a negative impact. But it's not an underhanded approach—it's very public and transparent. It's not a truly “fair” approach, but it's tame when compared with the Democrats and the media.
Cruz should thank Trump for playing hard.
Who will be left to work for Trump in the GOP? Scott Brown?
Since when is being born in Scotland a “disparaging remark”? Trump supporters squeal like little girls, “He’s mean!” after they bite their brother.
I’m done with Trump. His “win at all costs” crap, with this kind of personal attack, just destroyed my opinion of him since he started going after Cruz.
