Ted Cruz Wins Prominent New York City Straw Poll AFTER Insulting “New York Values”

This is hilarious. The Metropolitan Republican Club has been around since 1902. It’s a pretty big deal up there, with virtually very Republican Presidential nominee since 1930 using the club’s offices as its NYC headquarters.

The Club held its straw poll, which was conducted after Ted Cruz’s statements about New York values. The results? Ted Cruz came in first place, beating Donald Trump.

Wow, it looks like Cruz and Trump can split all of these votes...that would be 12 for Cruz and 11 for Trump. If Cruz would have kept his whiny piehole shut he could have had all 23 votes.

So you're saying Trumps support is very shallow because the only people that voted for him did so because they got mad at Cruz, not that they really support Trump. So I guess they just voted for their home town guy to spite Cruz for his remark but by the time the real election comes around they'll drift back to Cruz.

Even New Yawkers don’t like their own “values.”

A comparison is in order.

As a native and once and former citizen of the once-Golden State, if anyone insulted "California Values", I would agree with them, and add to whatever they said.

These so called “Republicans” live in the Silk Stocking congressional district in Manhattan. IMO they are loons. Just for the record, there is no way....NO WAY...a candidate from Texas will beat Donald Trump in Manhattan.

If someone wishes to convince me that Cruz “Insulted New Your values”, he’ll have to quote the words Cruz used while making that insult. The so called “insult” was nothing but a thin skinned Trump whining.

Of course. I live in Boston and if someone told me that "Boston values" are abortion and homosexual marriage, I'd say, "Yeah, but we're not ALL that way though."

The thing is, Trump doesn't believe the manure he was spreading anymore than he thinks the birther issue is legit. At least he confessed that his position on birtherism was driven by Cruz' climb in the polls.

The only ones insulted are Hilly, Billy, Cuomo, the commie mayor of NYC, and Trump. None of them would vote Republican normally... unless they are running as republicans.

I had suggested that the Democrats send Lincoln Chaffee to run as a republican, and they gave us Don Trump instead. Pfft!

I agree. Because Texans and New Yorkers truly do have different values. There are good and brave men and women in both states but one state values their freedom more than the other and that state is Texas.

Ted really screwed up doubling down on his New York Values statement at the debate. That was a massive tactical mistake. It was a "youth and inexperience" moment. Ted will have many more of those if he continues to punch above his level.

That said I won't hesitate to vote for Cruz if he is the nominee.

True. But I was referring to Ted”s nasally whiny voice.

I apologize if I was taking up posting space and didn’t leave you room to make a brilliant point. I will try to limit it and am looking forward to your sage words.

I wouldn’t waste brilliance on a whiner, something you and Trump have in common.

You don’t think Cruz has a whiny voice? I’m not talking about complaining about minor things (like Trump) I mean his actual voice. I find it a little strange.
