If we can only do the same to signs west of Interstate 5, that would be like broadcasting Radio Free America in enemy teritory.
Here in Florida, someone hacked the freeway message machine and posted on the info signs that Zombies were invading Gainsville and that everyone should avoid the city at all costs.

I don’t know which end of the state you call home, but up in the Bay Area, I have not seen very many CHPs. In fact on Saturday, I witnessed a one-car crash and I was the 911 caller. It took about 15 minutes for a CHP response and that was on 680 in downtown Walnut Creek.
One key opens up all the signs. The instructions for programming it are posted on the inside and are easy to follow.
They were all along 101 in Marin County.
