I continue to give Gowdy the benefit of the doubt. His committee, according to him and others, was never about Hillary but getting all the truth no matter where it lead. I may be wrong but I don’t think the committee’s report is finished or finalized. I’ll wait for that before jumping to conclusions.

We have to remember the GOPe is large and well funded and at the mercy of lobbyists and K Street. I’m not worried about it for now. If Trump wins all that changes.
Remember too, Reagan was hated by the media and the GOPe as well as the Dem leadership. Pundits and analysts all tried to destroy him. But, voters, both from the left and right elected him over the protests of the media/press, etal.
Noticed that Jim Webb is making noises about a third party run. If anything, that would be supported by Dems who don’t want rank and file Dems to vote Trump, as they did in mass for Reagan.
Agreed. This is all rationalization to avoid taking the needed actions. In the case of ISIS and AQ, there can be no negotiations, only total defeat and destruction. For those who say that ISIS wants this confrontation, I would say to ISIS be careful what you wish for. We have the military capabilities to wipe the ISIS caliphate off of the map in weeks if we take the gloves off. We would get more respect from the Muslim world who would favor the strong horse.
