I find it much odder and more ominous that common-sense conservatives are letting themselves be swept-up by a potty-mouth vulgar candidate.

All I see Trump doing is advancing his own frequently crude, coarse hot air and assuring people that he'll be so good at this and that "their heads will spin."

He said it in answer to the first question in the first Republican debate.
I saw him say it, and I believed him.
He then went on to talk about how all businessmen buy the favors of politicians of both parties, and he knew that because he had done so himself - including Hillary.
I believed that, too.
I never thought I would hear statements like those spoken in public by someone running for office. I’ve been conditioned by a life-time of mealy-mouthed, spineless, corrupt butt-hole politicians who lie about what they believe, lie about what they’re going to do if elected, and then lie about lying.
Trump got my vote right there and then and there isn’t a thing any Cruz supporter can say to change that - certainly not nonsense like it being a “mathematical certainty” Trump is going to betray us all. Obviously, given the polls, I’m not alone.

That's a poor wager. Trump is hot-headed, self-absorbed, and so vain that he established his own celebrity "personal brand" alone among some 38 dozen billionaires in the U.S. Why is that significant? There are a hundred-plus genius billionaires who make more money (some of them quite a lot more money) and are a whole helluva lot BETTER at the "art of the deal" than Donald Trump, and a large number of billionaires in the same range or lower than Trump (Trump is actually third-rate in terms of American billionaires). Yet no one has ever heard of those billionaires.
Trump's vanity alone makes him predictable; in all other ways, particularly politically, he is as mercurial as the markets. That's a bad thing in any president, let alone a Republican one.

If Trump wins the nomination and the presidency, conservatives will have to turn out the lights and move on. Because people with attitudes like YOURS will have made them strangers in their own land.
For the record, I vote in Pennsylvania which has a closed primary on April 26th. I plan to vote for Ted Cruz, though it is unlikely to make much difference at that point.
However, if Trump is the nominee in November, I certainly plan to vote for him over Hillary. And you?
