What about Perot running against George H.W.?

Cruz will not go 3rd party-—but others might like Dr. Carson, or Christie or ???
GOP—Trump/Cruz
Reform—Christie/Jeb Bush
Democrat-—Hillary/Castro
Socialist-—Bernie Sanders/ ?

What happens to the party if he wins? Then the party amasses a little bit of credibility...
Better question is, What happens to the party if it manages to unseat Trump (and/or Cruz) and ends up with Hillary in the WH due to its treachery....

Most likely, the RNC will try to manipulate the National Convention so that their superdelegates vote for their candidate of choice (Rubio or Bush) to block Trump.
If that fails, I'm sure they could convince Lindsey Graham or Chris Christie to mount a Third Party challenge to Trump, assuming that they don't just come out and endorse Hillary.

Graham yesterday said he could work with Hillary.
The GOPe knows the Clintons and they have a symbiotic relationship. They’d be fine with the Clintons.
It’s conservatives the GOPe really hates.

The GOP establishment would rather have one of their own than Hillary, but they would rather have Hillary or any establishment Democrat than a conservative or a populist. To Karl Rove and Reince Priebus, Hillary is an opponent, Trump and Cruz are enemies.
We saw the same thing 20 years ago when Pat Buchanan won the NH primary: everyone from Rockefeller Republican Colin Powell to neoconservative luminaries like Bill Kristol said that they would support Clinton if Buchanan won the GOP nomination.

Sorry dude. I lost my head.
