The Northern and Central California Sierra forecast is for 3-4 feet of snow between now and Christmas.

If you click the link you'll see the specific forecast for Soda Springs (approx 6,500ft), which is not the top of Donner Pass along I-80 between Sacramento and Reno.

Last good snow up there was in 2010. Epic snow is needed.

Well the pattern usually is when the East coast gets hit with tons of cold/snow the west coast get’s drought warmer temps and vis versa...so your probably gonna have a warmer than usual winter.

"Epic snow is needed"

Indeed it is.

While there's not much on the ground now (2-3ft at the top of the pass), another 3-4ft in the next week will be great.

Seven feet before Christmas.

We haven't seen that for awhile.

Of course, the Donner Party was trapped by 20+ feet of snow.

I control, or rather my car and whether it has been washed or not, controls the weather.

Car washed in last week=rain

Car not washed in the last week=No rain.

Now where is my grant check from the government?

Ha

I'm driving from Sacramento to Reno on Wednesday. Just because I can:)

I have chains and 4WD.

You will need chains tomorrow.

Sorry, they used the money to fund my research on why tornados are attracted to mobile home parks.

Flooding in the Salem, Oregon, area because of all the rain that we are getting. Complete farm fields are underwater.

Why would someone name their website after the notorious domestic terrorist organization from the 1960’s?

I rented a 4WD Explorer and drove down the Donner Pass from Reno in snow a few years ago.

Semis and trucks were pulled over, putting on chains. Cars weren’t allowed on the highway for a couple of days.

4WD is no guarantee in snow, especially ice.
