Now reports seem to indicate the shooter has or is near some propane tanks and may be threatening to shoot them with a shotgun.
Every so often someone gets the idea that open carry on a campus without verifying laws is a good idea. IIRC Fort Smith had a guy who tried it at UAFS not too long ago.

“propane tanks in back of pickup” could be CNG or LNG dual fuel conversion VERY popular in AR due to the “Fayetteville shale” and the abundance of NG in the area.

UPDATE, 3:50 p.m. EST — An unverified Twitter account associated with the Jonesboro Police Department tweeted shortly before 4 p.m. EST Thursday that the suspect in question was not an active shooter, but a "man with gun in his vehicle" taken into custody after negotiations.

which situation is more dangerous. He needs to reassure us that he’s
