“Trump follows Mr. Cruz like a puppy dog.”

Actually, Cruz doesn’t even follow Cruz. Cruz denounced his own statement.

Well, that's been my point all along. Yes, on a "litmus test" of issues, Cruz is unmatched. But what would he actually DO (not because he wouldn't try, but because he doesn't have Trump's ability to overcome the media, to figure out ways around the Washington structures, to win.

I'm writing the "Politically Incorrect Guide to the American Presidency" right now, Washington to Taft, and it's amazing how even the stauchest of the Founders interpreted the Constitution as they saw beneficial to the American public. For example, we needed a quick, firm statement on what our position was vs. France or Britain. Washington SUSPECTED that it was up to Congress, but knew that events would force a decision we might not want if he didn't more quickly. So he issued the Declaration of Neutrality. Even Jefferson, whose party was against this, justified it by saying that we were already at "Peace," and that Congress didn't have the Constitutional authority to "declare peace." (LOL).

Likewise, in his own administration TJ justified the acquisition of Louisiana under the guise of national defense (and there is a good case there), not the treaty power. All the Founders quickly realized that Congress, as a deliberative body, would take too long to make time-urgent decisions.

That really is the crux. Elect someone who truly loves "America" and all the pieces will fall into place.

We are so used to electing the "prettiest" bureaucrat we've forgotten an unapologetically American leader is NOT going to "bring us all together."

LOL! You know that Trump guy - always a follower...

Hardly. It doesn't matter who said it before Trump if Trump saying it is what's required to make it believable.

Uhm, Ted Cruz suggested it first, how does that make him a “follower” pray tell”?

I didn’t say he followed. Read my comments again.

Do you think you may write a follow up book on Wilson to Obama for another publisher or do you recommend Hayward’s volume instead?

Good question. My book is the first part of that series so I doubt I would do anything for another publisher.
