Not to hijack this thread, but my wife has an interesting proposal (don't know if it has already been advanced elsewhere): All U.S. citizens should be required to successfully complete firearms training (unless they are obviously unfit physically, mentally, or are conscientious objectors - in cases of mental unfitness or conscientious objection to the 2nd Amendment, they would then be automatically disenfranchized). Upon successful completion, they would be issued a firearms training certificate, and that fact would, of course, be registered in a central registry.

However, they would not be forced to purchase a firearm. But if they did wish to purchase a firearm, they would only have to present their training certificate (which, in effect, states that they are physically and mentally competent as well as skilled in firearm safety). The actual purchase would not be registered, so the Government would never be able to launch a large-scale confiscation of firearms.

The problem is that this has been going on for almost 7 years.

Obama has been getting away with his lawless conduct, trashing the constitution, lying to us, aiding our enemies and spending us into bankruptcy while republicans in congress either do nothing or actually help him.

I think we ‘could’ recover somewhat IF we had a NO nonsense president who was able to whip the GOP into shape- and to stop all the friggin nonsense the GOP has been doing by complying with the left over and over and over again- Repeal much of what dear leader did- pass new laws that make it impossible for a future president to exceed their limits- make them face immediate impeachment procceedings if they do etc-

Based on their track record to date the majority of the flyover folks will walk down to the collection points and turn in their guns when they are told to do so.

So, where again is that breaking point?

Where is Obama’s mistake? The GOPe is supporting him and we the people can’t do a dang thing except try to elect someone really good (Trump) in 2016.
