Sessions: Omnibus gives Obama 'blank check' on immigration, Syrian refugees
Washington Examiner ^ | Dec 1, 2015 | Paul Bedard

Congress' plan to lump the next fiscal year's budget into a huge omnibus spending bill will give President Obama a blank check victory on his open door immigration plans and bid to settle thousands of Syrian refugees in America, Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions warned Tuesday.

"Not only will the president be allowed to bring in the 85,000 refugees he has announced on top of current record immigration levels, but this will include at least 10,000 refugees from Syria who will subsequently be able to bring in their foreign relatives. All refugees are eligible for lifetime government assistance and can draw funds from Social Security and Medicare at Americans' expense. More than 90 percent of recent Middle Eastern refugees are on welfare. And they are on a fast-track to becoming voting U.S. citizens," added the senator.

"Now is the hour of choosing for Congress; will we surrender – funding Obama's entire immigration agenda – or will we assert Congress's power on behalf of the interests of the American people, and declare by appropriations what programs are worthy and what are not?" he added.

This can't be right. If so, this is a disaster!

The Republican Congress is a disaster. They are either the weakest people ever or they are sleeper cell liberals.

Once, again....patriot Sen Sessions is sounding the alarm.

Wonder if he’ll get chided, by Cruz, for this one, too :(

They are focused on providing cheap labor to the Chamber of Commerce (but the immigrants become welfare recipients, instead) and on looking “friendly” to foreigners, so they don’t look “racist.”

Why doesn’t Cruz give a d@mn on this and tell us, first?

Cruz is an idiot.

It’s looking more and more like Sessions is the only one in DC we can trust.

There are more than 50 Republican senators. How many of them are conservative? I count Sessions, Cruz, Lee from Utah, maybe one or two senators from Oklahoma, and now I am drawing a blank. Maybe we have 5 or 6 conservative senators. We are screwed.

don’t include those items...just vote them out of the package.

You won’t get them past his desk so don’t send him those items and fight it out later.

Not sure I see what the problem is.

Offer amendments to remove things like planned parent hood funding, and immigration money and just don’t vote on them.

If he refuses to sign tell him to blow off...you sent him a budget.

If your leadership tells you its the best you can hope for, tell them to screw off.

Not the time for the grand compromise...you have compromised us to the poor house and down the slopes to hell.

enough already.

Of those that you’ve listed....how many, besides Sessions, have sounded the alarm, on this?

Trump/Sessions 2016

Trump/Abbott 2016

Remember, folks: Congress’s actually passes a budget this year and the Senate Appropriations committee actually forwarded all of the requisite funding bills. BUT the Senate never voted on those bills because McConnell can’t stand up to Harry Reid.

and I’m betting they get Maximum SS checks instead of the minimum that many disabled people and elderly are on- the minimum is just $670 a month or so- while the maximum is about $2600 or so a month

That works out to about $260 million a year for initial immigrants, and likely will triple as 2/3’s more come in as their family members arrive for free SS and Medicair

IF they get maximum SS- they get nearly $32000 per year, while many LEGAL single elderly and disabled get only $8040 per year- well below the national poverty level of apprx $11800 per year- (Of course they get Health care too, but the poverty average looks at costs outside of HC I believe- someone correct me if I’m wrong)

Refugees will apparently get approx. $32000 per year

Many elderly and disabled legal citizens (Our nastion’s most vulnerable citizens) get under $8000 per year

Yep- We’ve sure gout our priorities straight-
