Trump questions Christie's priorities: 'New Jerseyans not happy'
The Washington Examiner ^ | 11/30/2015 | Gabby Morrongiello

Donald Trump is back to criticizing Chris Christie, less than 48 hours after the New Jersey governor snagged the coveted endorsement of the New Hampshire Union Leader.

The leading Republican hopeful questioned Christie's priorities on Twitter Monday, citing New Jersey voters' frustrations over their governor's frequent absences from the Garden State.

Former New Jersey Gov. James Florio shared his own concerns about Christie's absence from his home state during a panel in mid-November.

"Clearly there are horrendous problems to the degree that you have to be here to deal with them," Florio reportedly said. "I don't think that I could solve these problems without being here."

Wrong. You don’t have to have a lawyer to sell a home but it’s suggested and I suggest you have one. It’s a good thing.

Any time you need a lawyer for anything it’s definitely NOT “a good thing!” They are simply the agents for legalized theft. So in NJ in addition to paying RE commissions, you have to pony up for a lawyer probably because your lawyer-riddled legislature has written RE laws in such a fashion that there’s room for fraud and therefore a lawyer is “necessary for your protection” is that it?

In the context it is good to have. At least for form-filling purposes, where the impact of item 18c being left blank could mean getting socked with a penalty. This is not to wish that society could be simpler. That’s like saying you don’t need guns because nobody should be murdering or robbing.

Your comparable isn’t comparable. We’ve bought and sold a number of properties here in Calfornia, and thanks to our federal government buying or selling a residence requires that you paw through a pile of documents that emulates the Los Angeles phone book. That said, even with all the paperwork, the clerk at the title company is fully qualified to guide you through. To suggest that this activity requires a lawyer is just nonsense. As for guns, you most likely need them to protect yourself from lawyers, as they are similar in all respects to someone who would try to rob you on the street or in your home. As a consequence, we have any number of them at our disposal.

“Christie isn’t the reason for high property taxes so your friend is uninformed, lol.”

He never said Christie was. So, I guess twink is a great name for you.

the coveted endorsement of the New Hampshire Union Leader

Phhht. Actually, what's *coveted* in New Hampshire is victory.

Christie is in 7th place.

That’s mighty nice of the title company to provide the paralegal assistance. And it makes some sense because it’s going to be them on the hook if the title is sour.

Still, not to recognize that the world is full of wicked people is just plain naive. The “nice, helpful” paradigm, which everyone thinks ought to be the case everywhere, is in fact not the norm of humanity.

Yep. We don’t need a real estate agent to buy or sell a home in NJ but a lawyer is necessary. Worth the money spent.Saved us a ton of money and worry. This is NJ. I’ll always remember my Dad’s words to us when we decided to buy a home and settle in NJ (because it was close to South Philly where my parents lived, etc.). He suggested we settle anywhere else, in PA suburbs of Philly,or in middle PA, in DE, in VA, anywhere but Jersey. We should have listened to him but we didn’t. We were living in the DC area when we were married and I hated it there. It was too far from my parents, family, friends. So my husband applied for positions in NJ so we’d be closer, which was great. Now I know what my Dad meant, lol.

Exactly. You haven’t bought or sold a home in NJ. Of course you wouldn’t understand the necessity of a lawyer well versed in real estate law.

“To suggest that this activity requires a lawyer is just nonsense”

Again, you haven’t bought or sold property in NJ.

The title clerk is useless.

It’s certainly not the norm in NJ.

I’ve sold a home,bought a condo,sold it,and bought another condo.

I used a lawyer and realtor because I didn’t want to go to any of the closings. I hate legal stuff.

.

We had to be at settlement/closing. Good thing the lawyer was with us too. They, I guess the realtors and title company clerk, made a huge math mistake. My husband, engineer and math genius who does everything in his head, caught it. An hour later, yeah he was right. We’re sitting at settlement, they run the numbers, my husband refuses to sign because huge math mistake and I’m like WTF since I can’t do it all in my head. Our lawyer says, oh wait...Well,the title clerk apparently didn’t know math...Then they were all like no problem blah blah blah we can still do this, until our lawyer says hold on...no we can’t. He argued with the realtors on both sides (neither were competent in math) and the title clerk who was a moron. He was awesome once he realized my husband knew math and was right.

In NJ, the only person you need at settlement is a lawyer. And a spouse who runs the numbers in his head.:)
