UKIP Leader Farage: ISIS Can Only Be Stopped by Grand Coalition That Includes Russia
PJ Media ^ | 11-28-2015 | Michael van der Galien

Nigel Farage, the outspoken leader of Britain's UK Independence Party (UKIP), has spoken out against Prime Minister David Cameron's plans to extend his country's bombing campaign from Iraq into Syria.

The reason Farage opposes the plan is that he remains unconvinced that Cameron has a global long-term strategy. Such a strategy is necessary, Farage believes, to truly destroy ISIS and the radical-Islamic threat in general, and must include cooperation with Russia.

"I don’t back bombing Syria on current terms. Whether we bomb or not we still face threat on London’s streets. I think to go to war you need to be absolutely clear what your aims and goals are … There needs to be a long-term global strategy."

He then said the UK has to build a "grand coalition" before it does anything. Asked whether this coalition should include Russia, he answered: "How could it not be?"

Although Russian President Vladimir Putin is an old-fashioned dictator who threatens American interests in the Middle East and elsewhere, the fact of the matter is that he's already involved in Syria. Russian troops are fighting against ISIS. The West may not be happy that Russia's involved, but a realistic foreign policy looks at things as they are, not as we'd like them to be.

It make sense to exclude Russia from the anti-ISIS coalition. We simply have to work together with Putin, especially if we don't want to send in ground troops of our own. America's greatest president ever, George Washington, once told his compatriots that they should be weary of ever joining lasting coalitions with any countries...

You can’t trust Obama to be part of any plan to beat ISIS

The only way to destroy ISIS and others that want to act like ISIS is to make it so unhealthy to be ISIS or like it that it isn’t worth being that.

A massive effort unlike anything seen since WWII would be necessary to fully eradicate the threat of Islam.

A million men from Russia, America and Western Europe.

Sorties on par with those of the gulf war.

Reeducation of the young.

We’d have to go Roman on them. And that’s just not going to happen.

UKIP Leader Farage: ISIS Can Only Be Stopped by Grand Coalition That Includes Russia...and excludes the USA (at least until the Democrats are out of power)

Of course it must involve Russia. Vladimir Putin has emerged as the leader of the Free World--AND the leader of the Christian World!

Exactly right.

We don’t have the will to do what’s required.

Isis is a symptom of the disease. Wiping it out would be like treating the sniffles caused by Ebola. Sure you may wipe out the sniffles...

No coalition is needed. Just a militia with guns kicking muslims out. The French resistance won , not the French government alliance

ISIS is the tip of the spear.
They are the perfect muslims, living as close to their prophet’s example as is possible.
They are following their book that cannot be challenged or changed.
Eradicating ISIS as a military force is possible.
Eradicating the ideology behind it is much more difficult.
First we would have to acknowledge the true nature of Islam.

John Quincy Adams on Islam

In the seventh century of the Christian era, a wandering Arab of the lineage of Hagar, the Egyptian, combining the powers of transcendent genius, with the preternatural energy of a fanatic, and the fraudulent spirit of an impostor, proclaimed himself as a messenger from Heaven, and spread desolation and delusion over an extensive portion of the earth. Adopting from the sublime conception of the Mosaic law, the doctrine of one omnipotent God; he connected indissolubly with it, the audacious falsehood, that he was himself his prophet and apostle. Adopting from the new Revelation of Jesus, the faith and hope of immortal life, and of future retribution, he humbled it to the dust, by adapting all the rewards and sanctions of his religion to the gratification of the sexual passion. He poisoned the sources of human felicity at the fountain, by degrading the condition of the female sex, and the allowance of polygamy; and he declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind. THE ESSENCE OF HIS DOCTRINE WAS VIOLENCE AND LUST: TO EXALT THE BRUTAL OVER THE SPIRITUAL PART OF HUMAN NATURE.

Between these two religions, thus contrasted in their characters, a war of twelve hundred years has already raged. That war is yet flagrant; nor can it cease but by the extinction of that imposture, which has been permitted by Providence to prolong the degeneracy of man. While the merciless and dissolute dogmas of the false prophet shall furnish motives to human action, there can never be peace upon earth, and good will towards men. The hand of Ishmael will be against every man, and every man’s hand against him. It is, indeed, amongst the mysterious dealings of God, that this delusion should have been suffered for so many ages, and during so many generations of human kind, to prevail over the doctrines of the meek and peaceful and benevolent Jesus (Blunt, 1830, 29:269, capitals in orig.).

It’s slowly dawning on the europeans, if you want to win against a vicious militarized, well funded force like ISIS, Obama is not to be relied on for substantial help.

Then, we convert over time because I don't see any half measures.

Reminds me of my husbands grandmother in Thailand. We discovered she was going to mosque though she was a life long Buddhist. When asked why, she said, "It's just easier this way"

Worse thing Putin could do is join some coalition. He’s doing a fine job without them. They’d just stab him in the back like they already did.

You'll never rid the world of this kind of terrorism until you rid the world of ISLAM.

Fighting these separate groups is only playing Wack-A-Mole.

Exactly right! At least no coalition that includes obummer and putya. We all know full well where the o’s allegiance is. And Vlad was for Edrogan and ISIS before he was against them. In September, Putin and Edrogan together opened the biggest mosque in Europe - in Moscow, and the ISIS leadership consists in large part of former Saddam’s Baath army officers, all trained in Russia, and plenty of chechens. So the Russian language is often heard in the ISIS headquarters, and the KGB aka FSB is well represented there.

He’s right. Within 5 years Europeans will be BEGGING the Russians to come in and save them from having to live under Sharia. The Europeans have shown themselves to be TOTALLY INCAPABLE of protecting themselves.

The only question is whether the Russians will do it.

That’s because all the “Grand Coalitions” organized by Obama haven’t included Russia, and they have turned out to be useless.

You sure can’t trust the person who is supplying arms to ISIS. That be Obama.
