Late last month in "Russia's Mid-East Takeover Continues As Afghanistan Requests Military Assistance From Moscow," we noted, with some amusement, that Kabul was set to request a weapons delivery from Russia to aid in the fight against the Taliban. "Afghanistan, battered by worsening security, is reaching out to an old ally and patron—Russia—just as the Kremlin is seeking to reassert its position as a heavyweight on the world stage," WSJ reported, on the way to detailing a request from President Ashraf Ghani who "asked Moscow for artillery, small arms and Mi-35 helicopter gunships for his country's struggling military."

How many of these AK-47s will eventually end up with the Taliban or Al Qaeda is anyone's guess.

Russia has been trying to gain a solid foothold in the middle east for 150 years. It took the skilled diplomacy combined with determined foreign policies of Barack Obama to make their dream come true.

Zero Hedge is about 6 months late. I wrote an article on Russia poising to take over the Afghan region back then after the US vacuum.

They ought to send 10,000 AK’s to law abiding citizens of the USA. I have a feeling we will need them before the next election.

If I remember my history, Russia wanted Afghanistan and then would try to push through Iran to the Indian Ocean, therefore establishing a British Nightmare, A warm water Russian port on the Indian Ocean.

Yes, the ultimate goal may have changed but the strategy is the same.

Here, let me fix this...

Russia has been trying to gain a solid foothold in the middle east for 150 years. It took the skilled diplomacy combined with determined foreign policies of Barack Obama to make their dream come true.

Obama looks like he's out to make a lot of dreams come true. Jihadi muslims have been dreaming or a world-wide caliphate, and Barky is working hard to make that dream come true. And domestically, he's been working so hard his whole adult life to make Charles Manson's dream of a race war come true!

Russia needs money, let them be the mid east’s cop instead of us.Let them have their boys come home in boxes.
Russia can go around the world kicking butt wherever terrorists are.
As opposed to obamy who is watching espn.
