Did you read their minds, somehow. Fact is, you don't know how they understood it and used it. You only know what you want it to mean.
Fact is, the Founders never defined the term. Nor have the courts. But Congress has, equating "citizen at birth" with "natural-born citizen".
As to Obama, I don't know where he was born. If it was Hawaii, he's eligible. If it was Kenya, or Canada, or Indonesia, or some other country, he's not eligible. Unlike Cruz's mother, Obama's mother was too young to confer citizenship under the citizenship laws then prevailing.
Agreed, there is no convincing evidence Obama was born in Hawaii. Nor is there any convincing evidence he was born elsewhere. I have always held that the birthers were best served by pursuing a potential foreign birth, but unfortunately they got distracted by the "natural-born citizen" issue -- a red herring, probably introduced to the argument by Obama operatives.

Or at least off of Row A, B, or C if they foolishly let her on the ballot?”
Did Obama’s mother give up her citizenship before Obama was born? If not Obama is a natural born citizen.
I wouldn’t know. Obama hasn’t had me guarding his records. I really don’t know who he really is.
