Newburger, 57, called himself a leader of the Revolutionary Communist Youth Brigade as a fortysomething, according to the Chicago Reader, the Second City's main alternative weekly.......
Another communist agitator who spoke into the communal Maoist bullhorn during Wednesday night's protest in Chicago is Revolutionary Communist Party member Lou Downey.....
"We are the people! The mighty mighty, mighty people," was a communist agitator-led chant. Also: "Whose streets? OUR STREETS!".........
The Revolutionary Communist Party regularly seeks to conceal itself in growing radical movements involving protests against police.
In the summer of 2014, members of the obscure clutch were fixtures in Ferguson, Mo., clandestinely stirring up the protests which led eventually to last year's night of mayhem after a grand jury decided not to convict police officer Darren Wilson for shooting and killing 18-year-old Michael Brown.
"We are revolutionaries," Downey, the well-traveled communist agitator, told The Kansas City Star in August 2014. "We're working to do this in a way that puts an end to the system that for generations has criminalized youth, especially black youth."........
On the front page of the Revolutionary Communist Party's website, the party presents its founder and leader, Bob Avakian, in a glowing, hagiographic light.
Avakian, who enjoyed a comfortable middle-class boyhood, became radicalized in the 1960s during his time in Berkeley. He was part of the Students for a Democratic Society with Bill Ayers and, later, aligned with the Black Panthers.
He founded the Revolutionary Communist Party in 1975.....

In NYC it changed for a time after the Crown Heights riots in the early 1990s; the old white commies realized many blacks hated all whites in general and Jews in particular. Since then a new generation of spineless whites has emerged that deceives themselves that things are different now (despite overwhelming evidence that things are much worse).

I’ll take these people seriously when they contribute a penny towards the maintenance of “their streets”.

The Daily Caller piece treated Newburger, Downey, et al as comic relief. And I'll admit there is a humorous aspect to "Old, White Commies" leading young, black protesters.
But it's also sad. Not because these old, white Commies have wasted their youth -- and seem intent on wasting their golden years, as well. They are objects of humor and scorn, in equal proportions.
Instead, it is the black protesters -- who once again have been led astray by white Leftists, in service to the Leftist agenda. Once again, the blacks have been "used". Seemingly, they can't escape being tools of the Left.
Perhaps, though, I should take heart -- apparently the protest was small in number...and less than enthusiastic about their task. I would have expected a better effort from the community agitators in Chicago.
Time for the old white commies to put some skin in the game and walk a beat to get a cop off the street.

Older blacks seem absent from many of these demonstrations - and they are terrified of the younger blacks that do show up. Many older ones realized they’ve been fools, and nothing has gotten better for them (in fact, they are verifiably worse in terms of family structure, literacy, employment); their grandchildren face a bleaker, more violent future than the black youth of the 1960s faced.

If only we could find a way to make those “mighty, mighty people” police, feed, house and provide healthcare for their “mighty, mighty selves.” They wouldn’t have nearly the energy or resources to disrupt the lives of the working taxpayer.
I wonder if Obama would be one of them.
