In a rather bizarre twist on the latest controversy surrounding Donald Trump - the one about his claims of seeing New Jersey Muslims cheer the September 11, 2001, terror attacks on America's soil - the Washington Post's own factchecker on the story was forced to explain his Pinocchio characterization of the presidential candidate and clarify why he left out a crucial fact: that his very own newspaper actually reported on the alleged cheers.
First, a run-down: Trump raised eyebrows this past week by claiming on several occasions to have seen thousands of Muslims on television cheering the 2001 terror attacks. He first said in Alabama over the weekend that he "watched the World Trade Center go down" on television, and also watched in New Jersey "as thousands of people were cheering as the building was coming down," CNN reported. The next day, he then said on "This Week" on ABC "there were people that were cheering on the other side of New Jersey where you have large Arab populations ... as the World Trade Center came down."
Trump called the reports "well covered at the time," CNN said. But various media outlets came out swinging, saying Trump's assertions weren't true. The Washington Post's factchecker, Glenn Kessler, gave the statement "four Pinocchios," its highest rating for "whoppers," and slammed Trump with a mock: "This is a bit like writing about the hole in the doughnut - how can you write about nothing?"
But not so fast.
As Mediaite's Joe Concha found: The media actually did report on Muslim cheers. And not just any media - the Washington Post itself. On September 18, 2001, the Washington Post reported: "In Jersey City, within hours of two jetliners' plowing into the World Trade Center, law enforcement authorities detained and quesitoned a number of people...

‘One retired FBI agent says Donald Trump’s claims of seeing Muslim celebrations following the attacks on 9-11 are absolutely plausible.
Jim Burkett was an assistant special agent in charge with the FBI’s office in Boston during 9-11 and afterward. He says during that time the office received tons of phone calls from people who feared more attacks and others reporting suspicious activity.
Many of those calls, said Burkett, came from concerned and angry Americans reporting Muslims celebrating over the destruction of the twin towers and damage to the Pentagon. The calls were logged, reports were made and there were ‘stacks and stacks’ of them, he said.
Burkett says somebody in the office began labeling them ‘Happy Muslim Calls’. Most of the calls he said were deemed unimportant and the agency didN’t see fit to initiate investigations.
But the retired agent says even though video of celebrations following 9-11 is hard to find, he says it means Trump’s claims are highly plausible.’

This is where credible validation will be - LEO and local TV stations.
They never once “fact checked” 0bama, and I’ve seen minimal “fact checking” of Hillary, but it seems that every time Trump says something, they call out a legion of “fact checkers.”
I’m sure it’s not because they have a bias against him or anything.
I don’t care Trump claims they numbered in the thousands, hundreds or dozens. The fact is it’s been proven quite amply that muslims were seen in many parts of this country celebrating the 9/11 attacks. Couple that with the fact 25% of American muslims support violent acts against non-muslims, and we have an internal threat that calls for immediate attention.

Just because some jackass claims to be a “fact checker” doesn’t make it so. Everybody has an agenda. Even “fact checkers.” A good rule of thumb is, if they work for the state controlled “media”, they’re not interested in facts. There “facts” are their party’s propaganda.

I’ll say it again. In 2009 I had the misfortune of having my hotel rebooked in Manhattan when they overbooked for a convention in the city and they offered my group and I free accommodations for two nights in Jersey City. Jersey City is right across the river from Manhattan.
As my group came up the stairs from the subway, we walked about 4 blocks to a taxi stand and along the way what we saw was frightening. There were radicalized Muslims everywhere. The blocks we walked were clearly a large Muslim community. So Trump is right when he says there was a large Muslim population in Jersey City.
I wasn’t there on 9-11 to see these people cheer but there is no doubt in my mind they would cheer.

Muslims have a lot to answer for, you know.
And up to now, very few have been calling them out in the national media.
But The Donald, raging bull in the china shop, goes about being the iconoclast that shatters every one of these myths about the “peaceful intent” if the Islamic world.
The Donald treats them as they are, part of the horde that comes freeloading on the largesse that America provides, and shows the most despicable ingratitude of which human beings are capable.
The ingratitude is the worst aspect of all of it.
It doesn’t matter if it was true. Its the seriousness of the charge that counts. /sarc
ANYTIME you see the phrase “Factchecker”, it’s an automatic tell that they’re Leftists.
Which means by extension, it’s all lies.
WaPo has a reputation for leftist dishonesty, even among their fellow leftists.

EXACTLY! However, TV stations’ videos could be, uh, “erased”, or, uh, just “disappear” /s;) Seriously though, the young ‘uns need to know that in 2001, the iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, etc, DID! NOT! EXIST!!! If you were not lugging a camcorder around with you, your memory and verbal recollection is all you have.
