Alan Grayson Threatens Lawsuit on Citizenship Grounds if Ted Cruz Is the GOP Nominee
Breitbart ^ | 25 Nov 2015 | Jeff Poor

...

While discussing Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), Grayson told Colmes he didn’t view Cruz as a natural-born citizen and would challenge his candidacy with a lawsuit if he were selected by GOP voters to be the party’s presidential nominee.

Partial transcript as follow (courtesy Fox News Radio):

....

GRAYSON: It's resolved itself into this weird reality show. It's not "The Biggest Loser" that they're choosing, it's "The Biggest Bigot."

COLMES: That's very interesting, are they all bigots?

GRAYSON: Show me one who represents the exception here. In a sense I guess Cruz is not technically that way, because technically he's not even an America.

COLMES: Well, his mother was born here, so I guess like Obama, though it's interesting to me the people who had a problem with Obama, though it's interesting to me that the people who had a problem with Obama's birth certificate don't have a problem with Ted Cruz who literally was born in another country and renounced his Canadian citizenry.

GRAYSON: I don't know … the Constitution says natural-born Americans, so now we're counting Canadians as natural born Americans? How does that work? I'm waiting for the moment that he gets the nomination and then I will file that beautiful lawsuit saying that he's unqualified for the job because he's ineligible.

...

COLMES: Now I wonder, does he qualify because of having an American mother can considered an American citizen and in fact he renounced his Canadian citizenship to be an American citizen, but you’re talking about American birth, but I believe if that’s one of you parents —

GRAYSON: Look, even the anchor babies are actually born here. He doesn’t even meet that qualification.

...

Of course I read what you posted. Did you read what I posted?

I don’t believe it is right, no matter who it is or who their mom is.

It has been made right by twisting what the law says, parsing what it says by what a common sense meaning of the Founders would be.

I understand you are fine with this, I am not. And the logical conclusion is that one day, someone will use this interpretation of the law to give you a leader you will regret much more than Obama.

Wow it’s no parsing at all. I didn’t say I was fine with it either...you made that up too. What I’m fine with is following the law.

It’s what the law clearly said. No parsing. Nothing left to interpretation at all.

A mother under the age of 18 had to have been living in the US for five years prior to the birth. 0bama’s mom did not meet those conditions. Hence 0bama was not born a citizen per the law. Cruz however does meet the conditions required by law at the time of his birth hence he does meet the lawful definition.

I don’t know why you’re fine ignoring the law. You don’t have to like it and you clearly do not. But the law is the law.

Argue whether you think the law should be different if you like..,but simply ignoring the law is dumb.

What difference does the age of Obama’s mother make. If he was born in Hawaii as he states, he was born on American soil of an American mother.

Obama’s a bigot. He hates whites, he hates Christians, he hates Jews, he hates Europeans, to name a few. What’s the big deal here? As far as birth goes, these dumb asses have already set a very bad precedent with Obama.

Ah you ask the pertinent question!

The LAW said the age of the mother made the difference.

Again, either you are ok with flouting the law or you are ignorant of it at the time of 0bama’s birth (or both).

Both are pretty common in the general population but not on this site. Hence the media’s ease in manipulating so many.

I am going to assume that you wish to follow the law but that you like so many just didn’t know about the laws at the time.

I wish you and yours a very Haooy Thanksgiving!

There was a federal statute at the time of Obozo’s birth that denied to American mothers under 21 years of age the ability to pass nbc status to their children if born of fathers who were foreign nationals. There seems no rational basis for this policy which denied to American mothers under 21 what was not denied to American fathers of similar age when children were born for foreign national mothers. That statute would be declared unconstitutional in a heartbeat by today’s fedcourts.

Yes, and I disagree. I won’t argue that the law supports events, I just disagree with the laws.

Apparently (according to Obama’s lawyers) no individual had standing to question the President’s citizenship qualifications, so I guess Grayson should be out of luck too.

Ted Cruz also had a Canadian citizenship until 2 years ago. He claims he didn’t think he had to renounce his citizen. He is a lawyer. Why didn’t he check on this? His father only became a US citizen in 2005. I don’t feel like Cruz is a natural born citizen since he was born in Canada and spent the first 4 years in Canada. His parents were operating their own business in Canada.

I knew that the Dems would use this against him if he were to get the nomination. Just because the Republicans didn’t pursue whether Obama was qualified, doesn’t mean the Dems will fold.

When McCain ran, Congress had already taken up his eligibility. They have been silent on Cruz.

Yep! Just like lying, coverup RAT machine has obstructed Kenyans eligibility, watch them to go full bore on Cruz, Rubio and Jindall eligibility. They will "find" that President and VP have to be NATURAL BORN CITIZENS as defined at the time as one born to two American citizen parents on American soil.

This to avoid exactly what happened with Kenyan - destroying US and building Muslim Caliphate.
