Plan A for GOP donors: Wait for Trump to fall. (There is no Plan B.)
Washington Post ^ | 11/25/2015 | Matea Gold and Robert Costa

Posted on 11/25/2015 12:29:49 PM PST by GilGil

As the combative mogul enters his fifth month at the top of the GOP presidential field, attempts to derail him remain anemic, underfunded and unfocused — and they are likely to stay that way until the Iowa caucuses in less than 10 weeks.

Most of the party’s financiers and top strategists are sitting on the sidelines. Many are reluctant to spend money against Trump after watching others fumble as they tried to handle his counter-punches. Others, citing past elections, remain confident that the race will eventually pivot away from him early next year.

It seems a lot of establishment types blinked and are now operating on hope and change. If this is true waiting 4 months to do nothing and being intimidated by Trump is a recipe for letting Trump ram down the middle to the goal line for a touchdown.

Seems like the logical thing to do at this point is to support the leader and likely winner. Why don’t they?

I hope the GOPee is counting on my dollars to put them over the top.

I am still pissed that McCain took a knew 3 days before the election.

May the GOPee and Rove rot in the hell covered with all the K street money they have sold out for.

It’s a matter of which candidate is likely to make the donors the most money. Trump or Cruz are not those candidates.

My guess is that these donors are playing directly into Trump’s plan. He has managed to scare them into pausing on the negative blitz. In a couple of months it will really be too late. Once Trump starts to run the table he will be unstoppable.

I should have listened to all of you years ago. I hate the gope now. I’d rather go down in flames, than support the establishment.

Never again.

I completely agree.

Trump’s genius and I really truly mean genius is that whatever he touches turns to gold.

He is operating purely on instinct the same instinct that has made him all his billions. He senses tremendous weakness in the Gop donors. They are paralyzed at the thought of doing anything to jeopardize their billions and trillions.

Trump senses it so he is attacking to probe how strong they are and there is simply nothing there. I also think that they are pulling their support from the candidates attacking him. Don’t forget that Trump said of the Atlantic City Casino bankers that they are “killers.” Trump has dealt with these types all his life.

The donors are hoping for Trump to fade and if he does not they are perfectly content negotiating the terms of their surrender to Trump. That is what the elite class knows how to do best is surrender.

Trump smells blood along with his chief consiglieri Michael Cohen. Wow! You saw what he did with the pledge he signed. He is not afraid to fight and he knows when the fight will fall his way. Kasich has already conceded weakness and an inability to win. He is just fighting out of spite and Trump is not taking him seriously although he will fight him brutally.

Trump sure knows how to probe for weakness. His 40 years in the business he is in has given him that negotiating experience.

People underestimate this talent of his. It is no wonder his kids seem so well behaved. They know Trump has xray eyes and he would shred them to pieces if they did not do their best.

No, plan B is to sabotage the nominee if it is Trump or Cruz. They would prefer Hillary.

“Many are reluctant to spend money against Trump after watching others fumble as they tried to handle his counter-punches.”

I think we may be fast approaching that “tipping point” for the rich bastards. As it sinks in that Trump isn’t going to falter, they have to start being concerned and circumspect about what Trump, as president will do to them if he knows how hard they tried to RIF him. Personally, I’d like to see him open up a can of whoopass on inauguration day on General Electric. That unamerican company needs to be made to pay up.It would make my day to see Immelt removed by the stockholders. Thomas Edison has been spinning in his grave for years.

Trump is picking up over 10,000 subscribers to his twitter account every day now and has just crossed 5 million. Not one candidate has anything close to this kind of growth.

No kidding. They can hold their nose and pull the lever like I have been doing and tell me how much they like it. When they have had to do it as many election cycles as I have, then we’ll call it even and go from there.

Some of his followers may just be there for the fun of it all, but if they pay attention, he'll have them all voting for him. That's his strength....he knows how to grab people's attention and he's saying all of the things most people believe in too!

There isn't another candidate, of any party, who doesn't sound like he or she is just talking straight to you; yes, YOU...not the crowd. Trump; is an old fashioned kind of candidate....he is optimistic, states the problems in ways everyone understands, and his love of this nation is so very real, that it's akin to listening to a stirring Sousa march, The Star Spangled Banner, and a soothing hymn, all in one.

Before this all started...people thought that Christi would be like this, but Trump is SOOOOOOOOO much better at it and Christi is a jerk!

This is why the (D)ummycrats don't fear us. The (R)epublicrat party is as effective as the French Army.

The logical thing would be for all of these alleged (R)epublicrat fat cats to organize for war and decimate the (D)ummycrats in November 2016, local, state and nationwide.

They are looking at a gift horse in the mouth, a once in a lifetime opportunity with a Trump candidacy. Self-Financing the big show frees up perhaps a billion, a B I L L I O N dollars to wipe out the Democratic-Socialist party down ballot like never before.

A perfect storm has arisen. Despite the recent scrambling the (D)ummies have shown their TERRORIST sympathies, an issue that alone could destroy them if people would just have the courage to label them as the Democratic-Terrorist whenever a microphone presented itself. It would become a meme in no time.

Also ... Obama has been exposed as incompetent at home and abroad, Obamacare crashing, a weak and criminally damaged Hillary, and major (D)ummy candidate calling for 90% taxes, citizens up in arms over Illegal Aliens, Hillary actually discussing gun confiscation ... and more! There has never been a bigger opportunity to wipe them out.

The only thing not aligned for us is the demographics, with former solidly dependable "Red" states drifting purple. Naturally the establishment morons think a GOPe candidate would somehow collect a single purple state. NO! It will not work this time as it did not last time.

I am praying that the GOPe will be destroyed along with the (D)ummycrats.

Whenever I hear Trump speak, I get the impression I am at his house having a cup of tea and chit chatting about what is going on in the world and out lives. No other candidate is that way.
